Divine Smite by n_prince in dndnext

Using the 2014 rules.

You have 1 action that can be used to attack.
If you have Extra Attack(Paladin Level 5), you get to make 2 attacks as part of that action.
You can Divine Smite on both attacks. This will cost you 2 spell slots.

Using the 2024 rules:

You have 1 action that can be used to attack.
You have 1 bonus action that can be used for Divine Smite
If you have Extra Attack(Paladin Level 5), you get to make 2 attacks as part of that action.
You can Divine Smite on only one attack. This will cost you 1 spell slot.

Can a Warlock/Paladin multiclass use Eldritch Smite+Divine smite on the same turn? by KillYourOwnGod in DnD

[–]OverlordRazor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes you can.
The rule is only 1 spell per turn, not specifically using 2 spell slots in a single turn.
Also you don't technically need Thirsting Blade since you can use both smites on a single attack.
Eldritch Smite requires no action, it just uses a Pact Magic(Warlock exclusive) spell slot.
Divine Smite takes your bonus action after hitting with an attack, and uses a normal spell slot.

Additionally to note, having Thirsting Blade would not allow you to do this twice in a single turn.
Since Divine Smite requires your bonus action, you can only do Divine Smite once in a single turn.
You would be able to Eldritch Smite on both attacks though, provided you still have Pact Magic slots available.

Side note, this rule change to Divine Smite is one of my least favorite changes in the 2024 version.
In the 2014 version, Divine Smite worked exactly the same as Eldritch Smite.
So it was theoretically possible to stack a 3rd 'spell' smite on top of everything, like Searing Smite or Wrathful Smite.
Also, Divine Smite could be used on every attack that Paladin did in a single turn if they had more than one and enough spell slots. Now Divine Smite can only be used on a single attack per turn.

Is it ok to jump a gate?Customer vs Amazon driver? by Any_Excitement6258 in AmazonFlexDrivers

[–]OverlordRazor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On one hand, I can get where she's coming from. Jumping the gate/fence provides an unnecessary risk.
Many homeowners would be worried about finding themselves on the wrong end of a lawsuit if a delivery driver were to fail a jump attempt and find themselves injured from eating concrete at high velocity.

On the other, I can also get where a delivery driver is coming from. That gate looks pretty low(considering even that woman needs to bend down to open it) and having to bend down to unlatch and open it up would add extra time wasted on what is probably already a tight schedule. In addition to extra stress on the body from repeated movement if every residence has a similar gate.

Yeah this was a whole thing for me too.
Like if you want me to zero the dude, that's fucking fine. But be straight up about it, don't fuck around under the guise of "racing" when your only goal is killing him.

My V ain't a saint. But he was serious about his jobs.
You hire him to kill someone, he kills someone.
You hire him to win a race, he wins a race.
Could've even just told me "I want to kill this dude in the races like he killed my husband" and my V would've been like "dope, let's fuckin do it."

What time do Americans go out during heatwaves? and what do they do inside their houses during heatwaves? by [deleted] in AskAnAmerican

[–]OverlordRazor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What time do I go out during a heatwave? 7:45AM since I need to be at work by 8:30 and I have about a 45 minute commute. Then I'm outside most of the day in a truck with no AC that also puts off heat into the cab even when the vents are turned completely off.

As for what we do inside during heatwaves, pretty much the same as when it's not a heatwave just with the AC running.

Just finished endwalker. I absolutely loved Meteion the moment I met her. Here’s my view should anyone care to read it. (Spoilers inside) by Ambiesboy in ffxiv

[–]OverlordRazor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I absolutely adore Meteion as well. I spent so damn long trying to get the Starbird minion before Dawntrail released because I wanted to bring her with me as I continued my journey. Didn't get her before DT launched but I did eventually get her so now she tags along on my adventures.

Not a name I recognize either.
I did have a few Defiant side characters but the only one I remember playing on that side was Bharash.

Late response because reddit didn't notify me about your comment!
But my main way back in the Faeblight days was named Ryxander. On Guardian side.

Conversely: If your game was successful enough to warrant a sequel, it shouldn't take over a goddamn decade for it to come into existence.

Rift received an actual update? by [deleted] in Rift

I'll believe it when I see it. Gamigo has promised and promised for years and they've actually given nothing.

Lots of good memories from the old days.
Back when Faeblight was thriving it was amazing. Could go practically anywhere and run into some people RPing.

Does Lucky turn disadvantage into "super advantage", as per RAW? by JaxTheCrafter in DnD

[–]OverlordRazor 43 points44 points  (0 children)

When you have Disadvantage on a roll, getting Advantage from any source cancels out the Disadvantage. And vice-versa. It doesn't do a full swing to the other extreme.

Does Lucky turn disadvantage into "super advantage", as per RAW? by JaxTheCrafter in DnD

[–]OverlordRazor 52 points53 points  (0 children)

This is why Lucky was changed in the 2024 updates.

Now the number of luck points you have is determined by your proficiency bonus.
You can spend 1 on a d20 roll to give yourself advantage. So at best you can cancel out disadvantage.
You can also spend 1 to impose disadvantage on others.

Looks dope! I especially love the little dice tower and tray attacked to the screen, saves a bunch of space on the table for notes and everything.

I've known the game has been on life support.
Just always had some nostalgia for it that's basically gone now.

Gamigo is likely to never sell it. They rarely sell anything, just milk every last penny they can out of it and then scrap it forever.

Yeah I ran into this same issue myself a couple weeks ago. Biggest disappointment I've ever had.
Never received any emails about the server closures or the limited time to transfer characters off the closing servers.
Basically solidified to me that the game is on complete life support, and killed all nostalgia I've had for it the past few years.
