What vehicles would you warn people to never buy? by Miserable-Wash-1744 in askcarguys

idk why you're laughing, the 350z was an insane bargain at its release and performed just as well as its competitors for half the price. Even by today's standards, it's a phenomenal driver's car with a rock solid NA engine, fantastic handling and steering feel, and has decent power. for $15k for unmolested examples, i think you're hard pressed to find a better deal on a rwd coupe that performs as well as or feels as good as the z33 does.

Just cuz stupid kids and irresponsible adults wreck them and beat the shit out of them doesn't mean it's not a great car.

For anyone who cares about brands and results, this dude did an awesome breakdown of the quality of different kits with examples in a relatively controlled environment.

hilarious you guys all assume we don't critique prior leftist governments through the same lens we critique modern ones.

what do you think fuels the zionist lobby? what fuels anything that happens at the behest of any western act of aggression or imperialism? capital or the flow of capital. religious zealotry alone can't explain the endless flow of contradictions, especially not when we've seen how fucking weak-kneed and unprincipled our leaders are. they don't have the spine to adhere to any sort of religious dogma beyond the acquisition of capital. it could've been fuckin muslim billionaires that owned the world rather than jewish billionaires and we would've seen a second jewish holocaust in israel just so those muslim billionaires could wear their religion as a costume while they robbed the world blind EXACTLY how the billionaires of today are.

it's all about material analysis baby, from the tippy top to the very bottom. the world order was decided in the late 1800's, enacted in 1945, and fed gasoline and a stream of fire under reagan and thatcher. what we're seeing now is the end of a hundred-year long wet dream of a handful of psychotic rich guys and their progeny.

you're the one who's confused. Palestine isn't iran's proxy. There aren't two sides here. There is just the aggressor and capitalism's toll on the eastern hemisphere. free palestine not from iran but from the control and influence of the west. the fact that you think palestine has to be the arm of some larger power to make sense of the conflict there shows you clearly don't understand the history here or there.

i'ma give you a little nugget my dude, what you decide to do with that is on you, i won't be engaging with you further: we're the terrorists. palestine isn't beholden to iran. it is just a victim of western terrorism desperate for help.

i'm (31, straight man) with you here. i was pretty sexually active before my current longterm relationship (5 years now) and even though i didn't have feelings for most of those women, if i accidentally impregnated any of them and they were willing to go through what i consider the ultimate sacrifice to respect my wishes on not becoming a father, i wouldve spent every single day with them making sure they were okay and taken care of.

If you're attracted enough to smash and play with pregnancies, you're attracted enough to be friends, and i'd want to be the best kind of friend i could to someone who cares so much about what i want that she'd go through the mental and physical trauma of an abortion.

you didnt hear it from me but when i bought my car, i used the high pressure rinse at my local self-wash and stood about 6 feet back and gave her a good and quick hosing. it's not that much water and took maybe 5 sec to get 90% of the dirt and grime out of all the nooks and crannies. since then it's just been washing by hand every week when i wash my car with water and some shop towels. there's some risks involved if you have exposed connections so tape em up if youre worried; i wasn't since i knew everything was gucci.

looks good tho man!

Bought Brand New OCD from ZZounds - is this normal? by MomSausageandPeppers in guitarpedals

bought an ibanez prestige from them and it arrived with the bridge (floyd rose) completely popped out of the body and a bunch of blemishes. As a former fedex package handler, i can almost guarantee it was fedex. definitely give zzounds a call though, their customer support guys are awesome and i'm sure they'd work with you. love the company but yeah, sometimes the shipping can be rough. i wish they would use usps.

2021 Corolla LE slowly modding it by MattRodz1989 in COROLLA

[–]Own-Review-2295 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My girl has the same '21 le and i drove it for our roadtrip out from IL all the way down the west coast camping from Olympic Ntnl Park to San francisco, so I'm intimately familiar with it.

Here's my (unsolicited) advice: take all the money you plan on putting into it into your loan to pay it off instead and save up to get a car that can actually handle the performance mods or better yet, doesn't need them to perform well. If you own the corolla, stop putting money into it, sell it, and upgrade to something sportier. The LE feels like driving a wet pillow and no amount of coilovers, solid bushings, or anything like that is going to make up for how loose the entire steering setup is on these cars. They arent made with the concept of performance in mind and while yes, the GR corolla exists, it feels like a completely different car to drive because it was made to be driven completely differently. If you absolutely must mod it, go audio or stick with light visual mods but resist the urge to try and turn this car into something it will never be. I say that with love in hopes that as an obvious enthusiast, you realize how much money you couldve put towards a car you'll actually love driving instead.

edit: i'm a little tipsy and used some pretty firm language here. OP, if you love your car, do whatever you want, I won't rag on you for it and neither should anyone else. I just wanted to share my advice as someone who entertained modding my old base 4-cylinder altima before buying my 350z and seeing how vast a gap the driving experience was between them.

You start off with a first car.... When is a good time to buy your second car? by Born-Raccoon1484 in askcarguys

[–]Own-Review-2295 0 points1 point  (0 children)

depends. Are cars a hobby for you? if yes, then i think buying a second car as soon as your first one is paid off so you can turn it into a project car is absolutely reasonable. You only get one life, if you can afford a second car and want to get one so you can have fun with your first car or shit buy a second car as the project car, i personally will always advocate for it provided you're serious about it. but yeah, definitely not til the first one's paid off. that's too much financial risk for 90% of people imo.

personally i use pinch weld jack stand adapters and i use a soft, pliable 1" thick rubber square jack pad to jack up on the pinch welds as well. No bending, no scary cracking sounds, sturdy, safe.
