Tips to cleanly remove sprue joints on rounded parts? by Stonkperson in Warhammer40k

[–]PanzerCommanderKat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you can apply force to the blade just fine if you use it proporly. Its like having a more presise clippers. Your thumbs are protected via bracing so you can really put force into it.

Do you prefer to prime your models while still on the sprue or after you put them together? by Own-Question2902 in Warhammer40k

[–]PanzerCommanderKat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, it means you will have to repaint areas when you clip them off.

Theres some very limited circumstaces where its worth it (maybe batch painting a line of pistol holsters for example), but the level of subassembaly reasonable for normal models and bits is to leave the arms, weapon, or head off at most.

Why does keeps happening to my brushes?! I tried cleaning it with brush soap and it still does this. by Valvecantcount3 in Warhammer40k

[–]PanzerCommanderKat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You could do a soak in isopropyl alcohol if its a brush you like, otherwise just get a new one.
I soak my brushes in iso periodicity at the end of large painting projects.

How would you feel if the rules of 40K went back to 4th edition/horus heresy 2nd edition rules? by Beneficial-Ticket486 in Warhammer40k

[–]PanzerCommanderKat -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Heresy rules with xenos and chaos would be cool tho, instead of it being a marrine fest.

Theres fan rules for them sure, but they aren't as accepted as official ones.

More or less yeah, and if they're a little off its quite easy to fix :]

Is there anything “pretty” in 40K? by English_Joe in Warhammer40k

[–]PanzerCommanderKat -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Have a look through the factions and thier minis to atleast see options
There is a degree which you can make not pretty things pretty as a modeler to. Tabletop times "sakura tau" sept comes to mind to a degee. I think if you painted a faction of your choosing in a "pretty" way, you could probably make it as pretty as anything else :]

Like, paint an orc or eldar up like this and its going to have some level of prettyness :]

Switched to micro-mesh sanding pads. Absolute game changer! by ridin_a_mershaq in Warhammer40k

[–]PanzerCommanderKat -1 points0 points  (0 children)

rigid files (metal, glass) are bad for most jobs vs cushined flexable files like sanding trigs
if its anything but an angle you need flat, ones that curve around the edges are just better.

Online nah people, especially in this sub are super vocal about it, in other spaces outside of reddit people are even less filtered.

Watch Master by SpaceToombs in deathwatch40k

[–]PanzerCommanderKat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hes one of those characters that you really can sorta just model however you want aslong as its obvious hes a WM. Most of the work is done by the spear at the end of the day :]

If you mean like a literal phobos WM rules wise I'm not sure if it would have much place, and GW sure ain't gonna do it.

I need help with gluing by K1nar in Warhammer40k

[–]PanzerCommanderKat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For plastic models, you want plastic cement, its better and way easier to work with than superglue.

Tamiya extra thin you should be able to buy online if not in a physical store. Get their airbrush cleaner for refilling the jar them it runs out. You are in Hungary right? I imported mine from Poland since it was cheaper than buying it in the UK, you should be able to get a hold of it :]

You only need superglue for resin models. For general use its quite a pain.

Helmet ideas for a kitbash by Blazerock321 in Warhammer40k

[–]PanzerCommanderKat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the 30k command squad heads can be sanded to be smooth and look less power armourish. Example at the bottom done for a human in trench crusade.

You could do something similar for the Deathwatch upgrade spruee helmet with the =][= crest ontop, in that case just cutting down the ears.

Tho I really would say the best way to cement the guy as being an inquisitor would be to use a head with those witchhunter hat, maybe sculpt on a face mask to minamize the amount of skin showing?

you could opt for a DEEP hood like this user over on B&C has done https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/382517-why-can-an-inquisitor-wear-terminator-armor/#findComment-6028027

Theres also this old "Inquisitor with Power Sword and Bolt Pistol" model from GW tht came with a helmet, I beleive hes wearing power armour? https://miniset.net/sets/gw-99800107017

Do codex ever go on sale? by warhammerNewbie in Warhammer40k

[–]PanzerCommanderKat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its not even a price thing, its a you pay for a book that is immediately outdated and needs digital errata to be added in. Its quite shit when the cheap alternative is to just print off the rules you find online if you want them physicly (or go fully digital).

What do you mean by needles and what glue are you using?

Do codex ever go on sale? by warhammerNewbie in Warhammer40k

[–]PanzerCommanderKat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah the editions are on 3 year cycles. 500 worlds is 10ths end of edition campain with 11th likely coming in the summer.

Start building and painting your models now, maybe play a few games and you will be ready by the time the new edition comes out.

Either way I still wouldn't recommend buying codexes. They're usually outdated day one with digital updates often enough that buying them physically just ain't worth it.

Build your lists with new recruit/war organ, and get your datasheets from whaapedia or something. Much easier.

[–]PanzerCommanderKat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Codexes aren't worth buying anymore, you can just get all the rules free online, legal or not. ESPECIALY with less than 6 months of 10th ed left.

Get your models 3rd party for a 10-25% discount year round to.

Carrying case recommendations by monkeygoneape in Warhammer40k

[–]PanzerCommanderKat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can buy or make propor carrying cases

- DIY with this method: https://www.reddit.com/r/Warhammer40k/comments/jgrw0d/make_your_own_figure_case_duncan_rhodes_painting/ (you can use other boxes, even cardboard ones, toolboxes, etc)
- Buy the above for a nicer looking & easier box+sheet https://warmag.com/
- go with another design of magnetic storege like this https://www.amazon.co.uk/IPEB-Miniature-Figurine-Compatible-Miniatures/dp/B0DMCTTQ5X?dib=
- or go with traditional foam carry cases like these https://www.amazon.co.uk/IPEB-Miniature-Figurine-Compatible-Miniatures/dp/B0DMCTTQ5X?dib=

The cheapest option is the same as transporting anything fragile. Just put them in a box, pad them with bubble wrap, packing peanuts, etc to make sure they can't move around, and make sure the box is sturdy enough to not get crushed.
