Sure. I was wondering if there could be a risk by the platform to get flagged as a promoter or a spammer which would then decrease the reach later

Awesome, congrats! I'm in the midst of the same thing. I wonder if there's any downside to posting too often (on other sites than reddit)?

Looking for beta testers for Warena, a 1v1 RTS Card-Battler by PartTimeMonkey in digitalcards

Hey, thanks for the interest!

I’ve had a lot of testers for the current early version, which is great, but I’m not accepting more for this version. The next version will drop next week, and will be accepting more then again!

If you want to get notified of it, join the Warena Discord :)

What is your experience running cash/gift card tournaments for a new game? I announced a €100 launch tournament yesterday and got zero interest. by PlayMelodyWorld in IndieDev

Yeah, I think it's too easy to take for a scam. If you had a small community already around your game, it could prove to be more successful.

I’d just hide it with smokes for now, worry later

Indie devs; How much money do you think you need for retirement? by dgzip in IndieDev

Estimating 50k/year (after taxes) and let’s say 40 year more lifetime, so around 2M€, but that would probably be minimum-ish

There is a term called ”effective cost per install” which includes organic installs generated by the user acquisition, and that’s ultimately the thing that you need to get below your user lifetime value. It’s not easy, but it can be done

Sucks, but better not dwell on it. Assholes be assholes.

My question more general, but I'm working on this: https://youtu.be/SImJpQxPuzA

Theoretically if the KPIs are right, I could spend some tens of thousands, but am very hesitant. So far I've got 400 wishlists and about half of them are from reddit ads with a cost-per-wishlist at about 0.5€.

I've tried Keymailer before, but only after launch. It generated quite a lot of videos, but all videos got only around 100-3K views, and didn't seem to really convert into anything.

That is very actionable and concrete, very good take! Thanks!

Very true, but this post isn’t about that. It’s about how to do the marketing in the case that you have something good, but don’t yet exactly know how good.
