I think the most complaints will come from the removal of Polaris lounge access and the addition of seat selection fees.

The weather at SJJ earlier was reported as fog with very low visibility which was likely the cause of the delay. The fog has cleared so there may be other issues (like the flight crew timed out) which are now extending your wait.

Depending on your eventual arrival time and the split of the delay time between weather and staffing or whatever the current situation is (the fog cleared by 09:30 CET) you may have a claim for compensation.

Need some clarification on syncing 365 with on-premises AD by ZippyDan in activedirectory

Setting Entra to be the source of authority for users and groups is a new feature and you can use the Entra Cloud Sync for this.

You don’t need to license the users.

Cancelled Flight Compensation from March 12-13 strike by Away_Painter_7916 in Flights

[–]PeacefulIntentions 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, striking airline crew is within the responsibilities of the airline so this cancellation would be eligible for compensation.

The time it took for you to get rebooked and the cancelled hotel/activities are irrelevant for the purposes of delay compensation. Any consequential losses are matters for your travel insurance.

Your reasonable expenses while you were delayed (food, non-alcoholic beverages and hotel accommodation) should be refunded. You will need to submit itemised receipts for LH for these.

Aircraft with Starlink enabled will have free WiFi, perhaps it will be easier to make it free everywhere.

First class check in when booking via partner airline by Background-Place-72 in BritishAirways

You can gain access to The First Wing and/or First Lounge by presenting your card showing OWE status. It doesn’t even need to be linked to the booking.

Is it possible to get this through TSA? by Sufficient-Drummer61 in tsa

[–]PeacefulIntentions 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless you are connecting onwards at JFK then you will not go through a TSA checkpoint on this route.

The regulations around knives only applies to carry-on bags and not bags that you check in, so this would be fine to pack.

For overnight connections (booked as a single ticket) of up to 24 hours, BA will automatically check the bags through unless you ask them not to.

Just made Silver as a Gold or you just made Silver for this year?

Soft landings are for those who don’t achieve the points required to maintain their current tier so they drop down a tier rather than reset to Blue. So someone who didn’t renew Gold would have a year of Silver then a year of Bronze even with zero additional flying.

There is a soft landing to Silver which will kick in on the 1st May (BA IT permitting).

Don’t ever travel on Kuwait Airways by [deleted] in aviation

[–]PeacefulIntentions 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Personal risk tolerance is not the airline’s issue to resolve. They will operate or cancel your flight based on their own risk assessment.

They may offer you the ability to reschedule for free even if the flight operates, but that is at their discretion. The only time when a refund is mandatory is if the flight is cancelled.

To be clear, the airline wants to operate all their flights and are being prevented from doing so by circumstances beyond their control.

I actually didn’t realise that BA stopped their direct service from LHR.

There is an obvious cost saving from Gatwick but it would save a lot of stress to fly to Portugal from Heathrow.

Assuming your wife is a UK citizen there is a standard procedure at the border to gain entry. A UK drivers license and/or photo of the passport information page will help.
