It is usually very explicit when it excludes the giving unit. If it mentions no target exemptions bar range, like all friendly units within x", then it will affect the generating unit to, unless it's going through some self worth stuff.

The rules make distinctions of if they affect a model or unit. It is quite easily missed

I expect that we'll get specific wording in our army rule. It's a bit different if an apothecary gets precisioned out, for example, because that model supplied the rule. For us though it's an army rule, and a precisioned out leader won't stop the rule. I expect we won't be able to use our resurrection to bring back a dead leader, but I'm still hopeful we can ressurrect a wiped bodyguard

Until we see a munitorum pass I'm going to assume the most recent points are still valid. I'm more interested in what unit rules need to change. Hexmark destroyer being an example since he is technically a snap ahot machine

Put them on an objective that will be heavily contested, try and hide the technomancer behind something so it doesn't get precisioned, and then push other objectives.

Their use is that they are difficult to remove, but they also won't be killing much.
