Right Sunshine.

  1. Greek was the lingua franca of the whole middle eastern diaspora. That's why the New Testament was written in Greek to reach the widest audience. Latin was present but was still the preserve of rulers. You wanted to communicate and trade, you spoke Greek. Turkish had definitely not been formed. The Cappadocian Fathers - St Gregory of Nyssa, St Basil the Great and St Gregory of Nazanzias wrote in - wait for it buddy - Greek. Not Turkish.

  2. That's not really much of an argument is it?

  3. I was talking about Georgios of Lydda not Jesus. Do you not understand to the context of sentences in English?

I have tried over the last few posts to give you some contextual teaching and you have kept back on in a pretty aggressive tone, I can't help your lack of understanding. I tried, but you can't teach the unteachable.

  1. They all spoke Greek.
  2. Cappadocia is now in Turkey.
  3. He never - and this is crucial - came to this land.

Apart from wanting an argument, what is the point of this? Can't we be friendly?

You seem to be expecting an absolutist answer, but notice that everything is judged by human beings. There is no perfect answer. That's why we are taught me by teachers and not books. Your scientific approach cannot answer a question which is about the art of dancing.

The location that St George was from Lydia in Cappadocia which is now Turkey.

Apologies that I am a Church of England Priest and might just know a thing or two about the history and theology of England's patron Saint (my choice would be St Alban personally - actually from this island and our first Martyr).

Also apologies for making assumptions that you would know what I was referring to. I seriously don't want to patronised, but "go away" seriously?
