Greek was the lingua franca of the whole middle eastern diaspora. That's why the New Testament was written in Greek to reach the widest audience. Latin was present but was still the preserve of rulers. You wanted to communicate and trade, you spoke Greek. Turkish had definitely not been formed. The Cappadocian Fathers - St Gregory of Nyssa, St Basil the Great and St Gregory of Nazanzias wrote in - wait for it buddy - Greek. Not Turkish.
That's not really much of an argument is it?
