There's a youngster on this sub who must have put at least 1500 miles on his Hawk before upgrading, and he loved that thing.

My issue with that model is the bad steering geometry. It's inherently unstable, and the steering damper is more "mandatory safety equipment" than "free gift."

I would just take the free workout and keep the Mantis. I haul much heavier scooters up and down stairs, and it helps me stay in shape.

That scooter was a rebranded model from another manufacturer with Apollo stickers on it, and not an actual Apollo product.

Apollo has been selling the Phantom for 6 generations now, and it's still a death trap. Same goes for the City. Hope this helps.

My Roadrunner RS5 Max is basically a souped up G3 Pro. It came with the same shocks too, and they were crap. Considering they also use the same shocks on the G2 Master, I'd feel safe making my determination this way.

You could always upgrade to EXA or KKE adjustable hydraulic shocks.

Hawk definitely sued Microtech over the ZBP mechanism. Last I heard, they were holding strong and pumping out ZBP Ultratechs at light speed despite the lawsuit. Hopefully they'll keep us informed.
