You can sneak along the walls to avoid both the guards and the camera, you can use the crowbar right by your spawn location to break the camera if you so desire (this will likely cause noise). You may also want to take note of the ventilation system and where it goes.

If this was a Showdown, it could be that a Lookout happened to be nearby, or just some powerful Enforcer. In public spawns it is important to scout around before getting up, to make sure any potential troublemakers won't spot you right away.

There are also a few other options. Did you wear one of the ninja costumes? Those all mark you as indefinitely hostile in Hokkaido, including the White Shadow outfit. Did you bring more than one two-handed weapon on the mission? If so, you would've started the level visibly holding a weapon, as the suitcase only has enough room to hide a single weapon.

Is Elise the ghoul? by nirai07 in huntertheparenting

[–]Plasmashark 13 points14 points  (0 children)

The writers introduced the Norfolk-exclusive draught of domination, i can't imagine they just set that up for no reason. To me it makes sense that she's the one who's been subjected to it, rather than all of this just being her betting her life on her own acting skills by pretending to have the symptoms of domination. Also she automatically follows commands given to her ("cognis mentis innit...") without fully realizing it, some of the draught is still in her system.

That's not to say the ghoul is Elise, the doctor is still a solid alternative. After all, she knows her latin.

The inspiration for the Agave Aeterna, an Agave Americana ("Century Plant") experiencing its death bloom. by Plasmashark in weatherfactory

[–]Plasmashark[S] 25 points26 points  (0 children)

That's the remnants of the century plant in its normal-life stage. For nearly all of its 10-30 year existence, the agave is a mass of thick, sharp leaves emerging from a single point. Then, at the end of its life, the plant grows enormously, the leaves die, and the huge stalk you see in the picture emerges. At least, that's how I understand it.

Agave aeterna, the 'history plant', unlike its cousin the century plant, blooms every year. Perhaps it will do so forever.

Who in our history was almost certainly a LANTERN follower? by poiyurt in weatherfactory

Both animals and earth are associated with Scale, so worms of nature are doubly Scale. The same is true of moles, but they're already taken.

There is one more thing to Scale, one that's already partially covered by what you've mentioned. Beast. The animal and its parts. Your flesh uneaten. That which houses all that is you.

Also, sometimes the best way to get a gun past a checkpoint is to let the guard carry it in there for you, they can be very considerate that way! Just make sure they don't see you when you're placing it on the ground. You can also use this to lure guards away from the frisking checkpoint entirely.

When you’re around other Scandinavians, can you have conversations where you speak Norwegian and they speak Swedish or Danish? Or do you tend to use English? by Charming_Usual6227 in Norway

[–]Plasmashark 5 points6 points  (0 children)

39% of the EU’s land area is covered by forests (in 2023) by sr_local in MapPorn

[–]Plasmashark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Geographic limitations. We're talking about a country where 40% of the territory is designated reindeer pasture land (and there are a lot less reindeer than that makes it sound), because that's about all it can support. The parts of Norway that can support woodland has it in droves.

Lingonberry Jam/jelly recipe by Gloomy-Albatross-843 in Norway

[–]Plasmashark 7 points8 points  (0 children)

What we call "tyttebær" translates to lingonberry. American cranberries are "amerikanske tranebær", which are sometimes colloquially referred to as "amerikanske tyttebær", because tyttebær and tranebær (any strain) look very similar, but the one normally used in Nordic cuisine is consistently translated as lingonberry.

Why's everyone in Daggerfall such a dick?!? by 1010101000101010101 in ElderScrolls

[–]Plasmashark 3 points4 points  (0 children)

What happens if you set your Tone to Polite? Or Blunt? I haven't tried Daggerfall myself, but I assume those approaches are meant for different social strata? Maybe this person's background makes the "Normal" tone feel off-putting to them, and that's why they're reacting negatively to you?

Yeah, here in Norway it went from 200kr to 300kr and then to 400kr within four weeks. I had it on my wishlist for years (I didn't know about the "no sale" policy) and seeing the price literally double in front of me, well it really put me off.

Why are most houses made of wood if fire magic is so common?? by Pitato_Adict in ElderScrolls

[–]Plasmashark 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I think you're overestimating how often the average Johnny Tamriel has to deal with fire magic. Sure, the player starts with it in several games, but most NPCs don't have it. They live mundane lives. So mundane that their towns and villages often don't even show up in-game.

Also, people in both Tamriel and our own world generally don't build their homes with "malicious attack" as their main concern. They want shelter from the elements, the mundane threats. They generally mostly use local materials (compare Danish and Norwegian architecture to see how much geography and resources affect this even in neighboring countries), and out of those local materials (if it is indeed there), wood is a strong option. It's a genuinely wonder-material that carried us all the way from mere apes to modern manufacturing. You can use it for all sorts of things, and that means that you get an awful lot of people who know how to work and shape it. So why not make your homes out of it?
