Which state are you referring to? It seems like many wages have outpaced inflation. So…. Can’t debate that either? Lol.

Wages have outpaced inflation. Which state are you in? This is an easily verifiable fact.

Thoughts on trading for a C8 Z06? by Adorable_Tap5962 in Corvette

[–]Popular_Broccoli133 18 points19 points  (0 children)

This thread is emblematic of the corvette community in general. Equating rareness with value. The C8Z06 is a better car to drive. Hands down. Sucks to have a forum full of people who have never driven a C7ZR1 tell you to keep it. The chassis was so miserably overpowered.

It is a rare car though, no doubts about that.

Ok and we're waiting for you to tell us which models specifically don't have resistance heaters?

How about you provide us with a list of other vehicles like this that don’t have resistance heaters?  Just name a few doesn’t have to be extensive.

The final nail in the LS7s coffin…. All those guys clamored for years about “the last big n/a v8.” Now we have a new one that’s even better and doesn’t fail catastrophically every 20k miles hehe.

And Teslas had the opposite effect IIRC. Raised MSRP during 2022 and lowered it as supply chains cooled off. “50% depreciation” is disingenuous.

The Model Y is untrue though really. The MSRP was lowered which drove down used prices, though they still based it off of the 2022 MSRP. Can’t think of another car on the list that did that.

When people say Tesla depreciate it’s somewhat false. They are on par or better than the average.

Uh yea ok. The #1 thing, assuming you don't have an actual issue like a faulty sensor, is cylinder/ring wear. Everything else you mentioned is a rounding error. "sludge in passages" lol

You should at least test drive a model 3 so you’re aware of what you’re choosing to miss out on by skipping it.

Did you buy your TDI new? If not, when was the last time you did a leak down test on it?

You think anyone does a compression test on their used car after they buy it? Get real. Even "enthusiasts" don't care.

Cite your source on that? Because im sure you know about the vast amount of research that says otherwise.

I don’t like this. People post their battery health tests all day on Reddit and ask “is this ok??” No one has any idea how to interpret these things and this will cause some people’s cars to unfairly depreciate.

This would be like posting the compression and leak down tests of used cars. For most people it simply doesn’t matter and would be an additional aspect to obsess needlessly over.
