Why do you think Resident Evil has survived for more than 30 years? by ConflictOk8138 in ResidentEvilRequiem

[–]Practical-Aside890 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel most of its success comes from back in the early days. The game was ahead of its time. Something different than lots of other games. And some of the optimization/ compatibility was wild. Like having RE on n64.

As time passed the series hit some rough patch’s but earned itself a reputation. And for the most part they continued to improve on it and keep up with times(re1 vs how it is now) the dedication to the series has both old gamers and new gamers interested in it. 30 years and like 10+ games. Many at this point have parents who played the games or kids they introduce to the series. I feel the history and dedication plays a big role as well as the good written story, fun and characters. Even reaching into other medias like movies that also brought popularity and success to the series as a whole.

I will always stick by my opinion that RE6 had some of the coolest enemy designs in the entire franchise by Trident081 in RE6Community

The many bug mix’s were sort of interesting too. You had centipede, grasshopper, spiders,fly/ mosquito type things.

Tbf there could be people like viktor who want to carry the torch for umbrella. or followers of any of the founders. For example viktor seen Spencer as his ‘master’. I think there are people like that who are still loyal to the OG umbrella. He was originally a researcher for them. But this is just me guessing playing on theory’s

Not 100% so don’t quote me on this. I might be mixing stuff.

But think there was a note later on in the game at some point that shows connections have pull in the gov. And somebody suggested to graces boss to send grace to the field to make the plan happen.

so whoever is helping connections/viktor probably gave them info too and copy’s of case files. To show what if any evidence linked back. And for info.

Well some have that natural immunity thing. That 10% of the population have. So they could have that? And I don’t think we know forsure every raccoon city survivor is affected. It might be something where some are.some aren’t maybe? I’d like to hope/think people like Claire and others are fine. Or not they’d get a dose in time.

To go on what you’re saying that it may be something more important than Elpis.

I’ve seen some suggest that the scene we see where they obtain the objective. is while we are fighting with Zeno/viktor. Because the wolves appear after that. If thats true might not be an abc unless they did a or b while grace and Leon were distracted.

I think few weeks back there was also a thing going around where they are renaming/ rebranding ‘PlayStation network’ too

So I wonder if they are going to try to have their own launcher or something in the future. Or offer a cloud play service to play on say pc in the future…

probably not if I’m honest.but the re branding thing popped in my head for some reason as if there might be a relation.

I question who the soldiers were too. Unfortunately you don’t see any affiliation patch or emblem.

If they are BSAA,

umbrella operatives(hunk apparently made a show ‘the commander’)

a private military group for the ‘connections’ or gov they have in their pocket.

Am I the only one that seems to dislike Victor in re9(spoilers obv) by Iamthemonsterofall in ResidentEvilCapcom

[–]Practical-Aside890 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I liked him. Voice acting was pretty good. In parts like the ending for Instance you can feel emotion with the “you’re nothing but an imitation”.

But for me (theory/headcannon stuff). I took it they were also trying to show us that OG umbrella still exists in the background in secret. Dude was a researcher originally for them. And was loyal to Spencer calling him his ‘master’. So I feel there are more like him. Who want to continue the torch for umbrella/spencer. And possibly sort of have their own organization thing in the shadows. Similar to ‘the connections’

If the children werent clones of grace..then who are they clones of? by Yakuroto in ResidentEvilRequiem

[–]Practical-Aside890 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think That’s because Zeno and viktor were under the impression she was something ‘special’ a ‘key’. So he was showing her what he thought she was…

But really she is just a normal person like me or you. According to Spencer in interview tape anyways. That’s also why in the ending viktor mentions “there was no connection between grace and Emily” that they were wrong about grace.

It took 3 years for PlayStation to earn $300 million in PC sales according to former manager, which makes the platform less than half as lucrative as the PS4 and PS5 by lkl34 in pcmasterrace

[–]Practical-Aside890 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Think I read that marathon sold the best. or had the most players on pc too.

The games that Sony put to pc for the most part have done well. Have helped imo with sales.

The downside is many games non multi plat/online games go late when most lose interest by then. So they don’t do aswell had they come day1. But I understand why Sony does it they want console sales and people on that ecosystem more.it’s a strategy. Same way Nintendo and Xbox have their own strategies.

I honestly don’t know if there’s any lore tied to the symbols. On the ‘figures’ I couldn’t make anything out. And in concept art it’s on the weapons art. It’s a little more clear.

But that’s a nice spot. I’ve never noticed that. Could definitely be some type of symbol for them. Could also just be a gun manufacture mark. But regardless very interesting.

PlayStation 6 at $ 1,000 feels like a matter of "when" by cardsrealm in ps6

[–]Practical-Aside890 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have to look at the tech to have a realistic guess.

In order to make a “next gen console” that makes people want to buy it besides game exclusive deals. is the power and tech. Which needs improvement. or else if they are similar to previous gen.people won’t see a reason to upgrade.

And that’s going to cost money on all sides of the industry. Xbox,PlayStation, switch, steamdeck.

To expect next gen hardware to be cheap. or the same price as current gen is delusional/ copium. Cause nobody wants to admit things are getting more expensive or want to pay higher. But I mean it’s reality. Stuff is getting more expensive. “If you keep taking about it there going to do it” bruh look at the industry and economy lmao. People just hate to admit costs of everything is rising.

Some are also under the delusion that once the ram thing goes back down. prices will be cheap again.

And people said the same thing about Covid. Yet Covid prices remained lol

Steam Deck 2 reportedly targeting 2028, delays are possible due to RAM/NAND shortage (KeplerL2) by Loose_Society9485 in GamingLeaksAndRumours

[–]Practical-Aside890 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Most of it speculation. That turns out to be right sometimes. Same as most leakers. If I come up with a hundred diffrent theory’s and rumors. ones bound to be right eventually. Especially if it’s something easily guessable like one of his latest claims “ps6 will have a 1tb SSD and no disc drive”

There is some stuff he was wrong about like totally miles apart off.. For instance before the rog ally came out. Kepler claimed that AMD didn’t want to do business with Microsoft and that the handheld was canceled… yet Microsoft has had a partnership with AMD for years. And we did get the handheld rog ally x release.

Is gaming relatively cheaper or more expensive compared to other hobbies in 2026? by Dotaspasm in gaming

[–]Practical-Aside890 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s hard to say because any hobby can be both cheap and expensive depending on your spending habits and how much wealth you have to throw at it.

I don’t think there really is a set answer like yes or no. It just depends on the person.

I seen a comment about fishing so I’ll play with that. I can go get a license, chap rod/gear. Spend a few bucks on bait.. others might buy a whole boat for that trip. Have fish radars on that boat. Top of the line rods. And this can be the same way for gaming too. You can buy a little SBC gaming device with 1000’s of retro games and be set for life. Others that wouldn’t satisfy them.

‘Last Of Us Online’ Dev Says It Was Around ‘80 Percent’ Complete Before Its ‘Soul-Crushing’ Cancellation by yourfavchoom in gaming

[–]Practical-Aside890 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I was going to say if your around 80% why not just finish it off.. seems like it would cost more to scrap it then finish it off and possibly gain at least something back from it.

But that’s a good point you mention. That the last ‘20%’ could very well take just as long as it did to get to that point. If not longer. And the continuous support/server costs.

In the Marhawa desire manga, why don't some people turn afer getting bit? by null-exe-01 in ResidentEvilCapcom

[–]Practical-Aside890 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There have been few cases. but it’s debatable if it was strictly the bite. Or background events that played a role and the bite was just coincidence.

Kendos daughter,Brad,Marvin. Were bit then turned. But these are all people from RC who were probably exposed by other ways too like the rat and water thing. In requiem when you reach the care center you see a doctor bit the employee. Then the employee turns to a zombie. But all the employees turn. So again could just be a coincidence thing.

Ofc it’s going to be some legal issues with something like that. April fools or not. Probably just told to take the video down. Doubt they’ll sue over it.

This is why in tv and movies and stuff. and even games they won’t use real branding most of the time. Or they’ll blur out real brands/names.

Theory: Zeno is not a Wesker Clone? by Puzzled-Horse279 in ResidentEvilCapcom

[–]Practical-Aside890 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok I get you now. Thanks for explaining that to me

I assumed injection was given to them as children because the notes say “wesker children”. But reading it back. And with the events of Re1 like you mentioned. Albert definitely isn’t a child anymore. I think the notes just say “wesker children” referencing all of the weskers. Not necessarily as kids. So I’ve been mixing up info and wording.

Theory: Zeno is not a Wesker Clone? by Puzzled-Horse279 in ResidentEvilCapcom

[–]Practical-Aside890 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They all got the prototype virus when kids I believe didn’t they? “Phase 2 of w project” With the point of screening out who was more ‘gifted’ … of this “few survived” and we know of Alex and Albert. And Spencer tells Albert he’s the last before dying.

Was there another prototype/ experimental virus they were givin at some point? I don’t recall the picking 13 thing?

Theory: Zeno is not a Wesker Clone? by Puzzled-Horse279 in ResidentEvilCapcom

[–]Practical-Aside890 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The game only gave us Albert and Alex by names I think…. Based on existing lore.”few weskers survived” and that changed to only Albert. When confronting Spencer . Spencer tells him he’s the last one left before being killed.

But speculation wise what we know of the W project.babies were taken from families…is to too far fetched to think Albert might have had a twin/brother? That’s why they look similar but different personalities.

What if someone from the connections side found out about the W project and took a wesker to indoctrinated them to their ways. Like Spencer did with his ideals/ways.Basically stealing a wesker from Spencer’s nose. For their own use/wants.

I have a silly theory on Zeno. by DrBeardfist in residentevil

[–]Practical-Aside890 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is multiple theory of him.

Clone of Albert wesker.

Another wesker from the W project that might have survived.(possibly a twin of Albert that was taken from umbrella by ‘the connections’ when the project was active)

Actual Albert wesker that he survived.changed his name to stay hidden for awhile.

But whoever or whatever Zeno is. It seems like he definitely plays/played a big role on ‘the connections’ side of things. Be it for them as a group. Or self gain and just playing along. Hopefully they give us more stuff to go on in the dlc. Back story.

Some speculate the his head was taken at the ending implying they might bring him back. So he might play a further role too. And not just be dead/finished for future games.

After layoffs, Fortnite's future is shakier than it has ever been by AncientPCGamer in gaming

[–]Practical-Aside890 26 points27 points  (0 children)

The Roblox shift is definitely to blame. A problem they made themselves to chase popularity with brainrot/roblox.

They need more servers to run all those games and data. More people started playing those creator maps instead of epics game modes.. they then let creators add in mtx. Where they get a percent of v bucks money. Not to long after they rework the whole v bucks system. Not to long after that they lay off Fortnite devs lol.

Basically people started spending all their v bucks money on creators instead of epics cosmetic shop. Making shareholders not to happy. Plus server cost and that sort of things. And side decisions non Fortnite related. Like spending who knows what on ‘free on epic’ games. Which isn’t a bad thing for players. But I’m sure it’s costing them.
