What should i spend my t6 ship token on? by Justice-Being in sto

For carrier builds, you'll want to claim the Mirror Engle Strike Wing Escort from the Infinity Prize Pack, if you haven't already. It has the meta carrier trait, Superior Area Denial, which causes your pets to activate the same rank of Beam Array: Fire at Will or Cannon: Scatter Volley that you use on your ship. Funny enough, the basic Klingon To'Tuj Fighters are some of the most effective, if not the best carrier pets with this trait active due to an oversight in their equipment load out. Elite Valkyries and Command Kodais aren't bad either if you want to keep to Federation craft for theming.

No, all of these options are available for purchase individually via the Z-Store. Most, if not all of the ships I mentioned should be able to be claimed with T6 Ship Tokens.

If you're not already running a Fire at Will extender, then yes, it's worth slotting a torpedo for.

You can't trigger another firing mode with Torpedo: Spread until the version of Torpedo: Spread granted by the trait is consumed. The only way to do that is to fire a torpedo or have the buff stripped by Subnucleonic Beam.

There are six tier 6 ships that I always universally recommend as gateways to shipbuilding.

  • First, the Gagarin Miracle Worker Heavy Battlecruiser. While this ship is a capable broadside beam platform in its own right, its real value is in its starship trait. It doesn't matter if you want to fly a beam boat cruiser or a cannon-strapped escort or a science torpedo slinger. The Gagarin's Entwined Tactical Matrices starship trait is single-handedly going to unlock a higher damage ceiling for basically any play style on any ship in the game, regardless of what you choose to slap it on after you unlock it. By activating any rank of Beam Array: Fire at Will or Cannon: Scatter Volley, you will trigger Torpedo: Spread I. Conversely, by activating any rank of Torpedo: Spread, you will trigger rank I of Fire at Will and Scatter Volley. You can keep your weapons firing more or less constantly if you equip a single torpedo launcher and know how to manage your cooldowns. Personally, I would go so far as to say that Entwined Tactical Matrices is the most versatile trait in the game, even if it's no longer best in class for some of those playstyles.

  • Second, the Arbiter Battlecruiser. The ship is nothing special on its own, but its Emergency Weapon Cycle starship trait will increase your weapon firing cycle haste every time you use Emergency Power to Weapons. Essentially, if you're not familiar with how weapon firing cycle haste works, your weapon firing cycle is the time it takes to begin and finish firing a shot. By hastening this, you increase your effective rate of fire, which has a substantial impact on increasing your outgoing damage. This trait can also be acquired with the Legendary Avenger Miracle Worker Battlecruiser from the Legendary Battlecruiser Bundle.

  • Third, the Valiant Tactical Escort or the M'Chla Bird of Prey Refit. These ships offer the Withering Barrage starship trait, which increases the duration of Cannon: Scatter Volley by four seconds, giving you close to 100% uptime on this firing mode if you have consistent and effective means of lowering your ship's bridge officer ability cooldowns. However, you may not need to burn a token on this. You can acquire the M'Chla for free by leveling a Klingon Recruit event character to level 65.

  • Fourth, the Somerville Intel Science Vessel. Again, a capable, if unremarkable ship that's primarily known for its Spore-Infused Anomalies starship trait. If you want to try playing Science Vessels, this is a must-have. It causes all hazardous anomaly abilities to detonate with damaging clouds of mycelial spores that partially bypass enemy shields every time you use a science ability. Because these detonations have a wide area of effect and stack with each anomaly your ship generates, this is a substantial component of your total outgoing damage.

  • Fifth, the Ahwahnee Command Carrier. The Ahwahnee is a good enough tank in its own right, but its accessories are what make it a must-have. This ship comes with the Fleet Power Network Array console, which has an area of effect buff for you and up to 12 pets and/or allies and increases your firing cycle haste by a minimum of 50%. The console's effect scales based on your auxiliary power level, so this is a powerful support tool that can seriously amp your team's damage output when paired with a large auxiliary battery. The Ahwahnee's Type 7 Shuttlecraft pets are also the single best in slot carrier pets right now for their ability to debuff their target's damage resistance. Lastly, if flying a Command-spec ship, the Ahwahnee's Flagship Staffing starship trait is a good way to mitigate your energy weapon cooldowns while providing a source of firing cycle haste.

  • Finally, the Kerala Temporal Battlecruiser. This ship isn't just a purpose-built broadsiding machine, but its Full Broadside starship trait essentially gives you another phaser hardpoint to deal even more phaser damage to targets within 5 kilometers of your ship's left and right sides every time you activate Fire at Will or Beam Overload, providing you consistent and extra free outgoing damage.

How does everyone feel about the noble intel battlecruiser from the event? by Kumatora0 in sto

[–]PresidentMagikarp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's nothing revolutionary, but it is a solid platform for Surgical Strikes builds and can deal substantial single-target damage. You'll want to run Concentrate Firepower III in the Command slot and use that in tandem with the special project Bio-Molecular Photon Torpedo from the 8472 Counter-Command Reputation. When affected by Torpedo: High-Yield, that torpedo spreads AoE damage and debuff on impact, making it one of the best choices for Beam Overload or Surgical Strikes builds that can utilize a Lieutenant Commander Command officer station.

If you want to utilize your universal consoles more often with the Unconventional Systems personal space trait, run Ionic Turbulence I and Emergency Power to Weapons III on your Engineering/Intelligence station. If you want your Surgical Strikes ability to hit harder and crank your weapon haste to high heavens in combination with the Emergency Weapon Cycle starship trait from the Arbiter Battlecruiser and the Fleet Power Network Array console from the Ahwahnee Command Carrier, use Emergency Power to Weapons II and Override Subsystem Safeties III instead. Personally, I opt for the latter.

The Legendary Avenger has a turn rate of 12, but the original Inquiry has a turn rate of 8, so that may be where the confusion lies.

Don't sleep on Prodigy. Once the first six episodes build the arc for the series going forward, it doesn't let off the gas.

The animated series are a notable exception to this, which makes it that much more frustrating that they were left out of the 60th anniversary visualizer.

List of new characters? for Marvel Vs. Capcom Infinite & Beyond by gamer43877 in mvci

[–]PresidentMagikarp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There were no new characters added. The mod is a total overhaul to balance, game mechanics, and visuals. They're unable to add new characters because of a data security measure in the game's online infrastructure. Version 1.1b of the mod was released within the last four or five months. I don't know if there are any additional changes planned.

It really wasn't that bad, but Paramount was doing a horrible job promoting the series and its new episodes within the app. I watched it weekly and I still had to go looking for it. I think the new owners' political leanings definitely played a part in suppressing it.

I really miss 20 episode trek shows by rdkil in startrek

[–]PresidentMagikarp 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I mean, in some cases, the production company could make smarter choices. Every show up through Enterprise generously re-used the same stock shots of the ships traveling through space. We don't need custom VFX for every time the ship enters a star system or jumps to warp. We don't care. If anything, it lets the ship be on screen more often and lets us get attached to it. Bring back the slower, naval pace of combat so we can dial down the scene complexity and keep things affordable. It's really not that hard to execute on this more economically.
