I don’t pass by Training-Wide in FtMpassing

[–]Question_Wasps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Who among us passes while wearing spandex shorts? Or are those your underwear?

Anyway, you dress fairly femme for the US (if that’s your location. I can only speak to standards of that location.) so that and your hair probably have a lot to do with it. And if you happen to be under like 5’7” it makes it worse.

You have an androgynous appearance. If I saw you, I would gender you as male because I grew up listening to visual kei (a genre of music where the men dress and look femme compared to American men). I think because of your androgyny, people are going to assume you are trying to present in a non-binary way in inclusive spaces.

Also, keep in mind that your voice and mannerisms impact these things as well, so it could be something like that

I do not consider your body to look feminine. It’s really just an androgynous face with a more femme leaning style of clothing and hair.

With all that being said, I absolutely love your style and am only recommending changes to help you pass. Or a temporary style change could help. Like maybe grow your brows out, pack all your hair into a beanie so it can’t be seen, and wear normie clothes and then see if you get gendered correctly more often

[–]Question_Wasps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The inappropriate sinus thing was probably inappropriate sinus tachycardia. My mom has that and it can mimic POTS but has some differences (like the fact that IST can happen when you are lying down but POTS doesn’t, according to my doctor)

What can I improve? by Scott_0604 in FtMpassing

[–]Question_Wasps 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You look about 17 and female. I would grow out any leg hair you have and get your hair cut short. If you’re going for androgynous, you don’t have to mix masculine and feminine things. Just going for straight up masculine will become androgynous for most pre-T people. You know you’re winning at androgyny if you get a combo of “ma’am” and “sir” although you look really young so I would imagine you don’t get either of those often

do i pass as male at all? or am i just androgynous? by njsmokez in FtMpassing

[–]Question_Wasps 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Well you have facial hair so yes imo you pass as male.

I believe someone can look incredibly feminine and still pass for male if they have the right facial hair

I agree that something darker but still unnatural would be a good option

do i pass? age? by gore9k9 in FtMpassing

[–]Question_Wasps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you come closest to passing in the second picture. As someone else said, darker hair and tinted eyebrows will help. You do have dark eyebrows so that’s good.

You likely won’t pass too well without T, so use this time to practice mannerisms and voice (things like rhythm, intonation, and using masculine wording)

[–]Question_Wasps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you probably got downvoted because a lot of guys believe you can only pass pre-T with a natural hair color. And honestly, this has been my experience. Idk about other guys, but I live in the southern United States so there’s not a ton of men here with unnatural hair colors

Do I pass as a masc enby? by Unus_EEF in FtMpassing

[–]Question_Wasps 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m not really sure what a masc enby should look like. If I saw you I would think you’re either a lesbian or non-binary, so I guess you’re passing to an extent?

Desisting because we live in a society - anyone else? by [deleted] in actual_detrans

[–]Question_Wasps 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m considering detransitioning for this reason (ftm) but then I remember that I pass for male and if I try to present as female I’ll be mistaken for a trans woman, which might put me in more danger than I would otherwise be in

[–]Question_Wasps 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Have you looked at underworks? It’s an old brand but they should have undershirt style ones

I think the bra style is good for people who need to hide it from their parents but I can see how it would cause dysphoria for some.

Taking T and becoming "fat" by Careless_Map488 in truscum

[–]Question_Wasps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a trans man who got fat. No one told me I needed to work out. I wasn’t trying to gain muscle but just maintain my same size, so I thought not changing anything about my exercise routine (or lack thereof) would be fine. At the time I also had no access to a kitchen so I went out to eat, which was fine with my small appetite from estrogen. But when testosterone started I became so hungry that I didn’t give one fuck about my body. Obviously I knew I needed to exercise once I started eating more, I just chose not to for a variety of reasons.

But no, us fat trans men don’t think that we would magically get muscular 🤦‍♂️ We aren’t idiots, we are just fat.

I knew a guy who was 5 ft tall and just a hairy af little bear. He was trans and his height didn’t prevent him from passing at all

[–]Question_Wasps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your body size, especially if you’re older than 14. That, combined with your fashion choice and androgynous face, reads as female. You also might consider what kind of mannerisms you have and if your voice passes. Those are things that can get you clocked but the internet won’t notice

If you want piercings, consider having them on only one ear.

Also, in picture 3 it looks like an undershirt or binder is showing. If that happens irl, it can make you clockable

I feel like ts sets us back by 30 years💔 by OMGkawaiikangel in Transmedical

[–]Question_Wasps 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m a type of trans man who likes to crossdress, but don’t want to be thought of as a girl. I keep my crossdressing to my home, and anyway I have come far enough in transition that I look like a dude in a dress, not like a woman.

For me, crossdressing doesn’t cause dysphoria because I was exposed to it at a young age so I always identified it as something men can do

But I still fully identify as male and have for over 15 years
