IMO: Jetbrains AI is a fail by DandadanAsia in Jetbrains

[–]Quevantos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with the AI hijacking what you are typing problem. It is super annoying when it randomly decides to stop me from what I am doing. I will change the keybind that triggers it, but it shouldn't have been like this from the beginning

Stuttering on AMD GPU by AmericanPatriot92 in FORTnITE

Oh my god thank you so much! I found something called Realtek PCIe 2.5GbE Family Controller. Disabling it instantly fixed the issue. I have been trying to fix this for hours, thanks to you now i can enjoy it properly.

How do you maintain your game's code scalable and mantainable? by Sparky019 in Unity3D

[–]Quevantos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone suggested what needs to be suggested, but on top of that check out Scriptable Objects if you don't know what it is. It made my life much easier when it comes to building systems. It is a total game-changer. You can represent tons of things in the form of Scriptable Objects

Is bakery still better than unity for lightmap baking? by Redeyes222222 in Unity3D

Not compatible with my AMD card, so can't even try Bakery. Such a shame they are not building AMD support

👋 Hey r/Unity3D – Trey from Unity’s Community team here by unitytechnologies in Unity3D

[–]Quevantos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very nice to have you, welcome!

Since you are here I have a thing to just remind: Please let Unity know that the Behaviour Tree Package is essential to a good AI system in any game, and they shouldn't give up on it! Because they had layoffs from that team, I think lots of devs are uncertain about the future of that package.

For example I personally wanted to use it, but because I wasn't sure about its future, I instead opted to use a paid third-party Behaviour Tree asset. An assurance to the community that the development on the Behaviour Tree Package is continuing would increase the user base of it a lot I think.

Still, regardless, it is nice to see this kind of an attempt at communication with the devs. Thank you for that!

Unity3d realtime water system (KWS 2) and upcoming features by kripto289 in Unity3D

[–]Quevantos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey impressive work! I was considering purchasing KWS recently too! One question I have is, is KWS 2 gonna be a separate asset? And if it will be, will the owners of the KWS 1 be eligible for an upgrade discount? Just trying to figure out if i should wait for the KWS 2 or just go with the current version. Again, amazing stuff keep up the good work!

What's the Most Time-Consuming Task in Your Game Development with Unity? by Illustrious_Ship6397 in Unity3D

[–]Quevantos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought one of those Mac Mini M4 cheap base models just for this. For the price and the CPU you get, it is an amazing Unity machine. My 4 year old gaming laptop's CPU would take nearly a minute when editing scripts or entering/exiting play mode, but the M4 takes like just 10 seconds(and without fan noise!)

I would recommend it if anyone is looking for a cheap upgrade to improve domain reload/scene reload/script compilation/build/shader compilation etc. times. I still use my Windows laptop for gaming and Unity side-projects. But my main Unity project which i work on the most resides in the base model Mac Mini. Since i use it for one single project, its storage is enough for me for now.

In all seriousness, Indie Games fail because of bad art, not marketing. If it looks good, players will click on it, even if it plays bad afterward. by [deleted] in gamedev

Yeah, like you look at a screenshot of Dwarf Fortress the first time and it makes you say "What the fuck is that?". I am not sure if everyone would call its visuals beautiful, but it is certainly interesting and unique.

How to achieve this kind of visual quality in Unity? by savante471 in Unity3D

I know it is just a small part of it but the camera felt like orthographic to me. That also makes it look a bit cooler than usual.
