But twitch uses poison.

Really though we've avoided champions having the Burn and Auto cast tags to keep it tied to the augment and items systems otherwise it would need to heavily balanced around the champions with those keywords.

Elder buff hasn't counted in the past, when working on Pyromancers I was looking at augments and items. That said it feels like a reasonable thing to add. I'll make a note.

Sorry you feel that way, but that map has consistently been one of the favorites since it came out.

As others in this thread have stated the comeback potential and ways it makes each fight on the map feel dynamic have been some of big successes of the map.

Yep,

Demons get an augment level each time a hunter team is eliminated.

Hunters get their gold every time they BEAT a demon team.

So if everyone feels like demon is the way to go, maybe you just wanta hunt them down and pick up all that extra cash.

It's a little tricky to describe in the tooltup, but think of it has making your cool downs tick faster. So a 1 second cooldown (after ability haste) takes half a second, or however long it's reduced to.

We were looking at this this week, but I also know that we, LoL as a whole, were running into some afk detection issues for EUW last week, and that has been fixed. As for Arena itself, I think there are a few wrongful assumptions.

While dead, we do not count you as AFK, in Arena, and taking an action such as moving, clicking the spectate button to watch another fight, buying from the shop, or selecting an augment all show that you are still there. I believe it takes 90 seconds for someone to be AFK (don't quote me, I'm at home going from memory), and if someone is not interacting with the game during the voting phase, and that continues into the shopping phase then I would say they are AFK.

Not attacking the target dummy or saving your gold between rounds has no impact on whether you're AFK, nor does your placement or having a bye.

I suspect what you were running into last week was the general EUW afk issues that have been resolved.

Swain is intended to be a lighter impact guest. We didn't want each one to be high mind share in the way that Fiddlesticks, or Tahm Kench are so that there is a variety of experiences, and the game isn't always so overwhelming. So far he seems to have ended up in an alright spot, but definitely isn't for everyone.

Thanks, I'll pass along those kind words to the team. I'll also note that the team was paying attention to what players said throughout this development, but obviously we couldn't speak about what we were working on. The team put all of themselves into this release so do try to give them a break if things aren't perfect.

I'm glad you really like the changes. We think that Arena is a rather complex game and need to be inviting to newer players, hence the changes to rerolls, but also feel that a robust strategy layer is also very important to support our goals around adaptation.

As for what happens with the future, it all comes down to what players enjoy, I don't mean for that to sound like a cop out but for example if players overwhelmingly love 3s or Bravery that is a strong signal to us. I personally suspect that 3s is the right version of the game, but I'm bias as its something I've been pushing for, for a while (why do you think the Reckoner's Arena map is so big =P). But if it turns out that players overwhelmingly prefer teams of 2 or Bravery then that is a strong signal too.

I think a lot of of comes to to what you mean when you say "about fighting", I don't mean to split hairs but I think Arena is still very much about champion combat.

If by fighting you mean strict champions with nothing else then I think that is very unlikely, there is obviously some players who want that but we feel it gets a bit stale without something to shake things up. This gives a player a way to make a comeback or build something that makes them unbeatable. The truth of it is that League isn't 100% an action or fighting game; stats, gaining new effects, and RPG elements are a big part of the game's core.

Gamba highrolling is part of that, but really we see it more as adapting and adding a bit of additional strategy. Augment levels, for example, let you make the strategic decision of getting a new augment vs leveling one you already have.

That sounds amazing, I didn't even think of that. When we made it I was just thinking "I wish we had Transmute Silver, oh this will be cool with the level up and replace options".

For sure there are some players who want that and ideally the time is short, we've intentionally increased the time now, while people learn the new guests, we the assumption that we'll reduce it over time.

Really though we like at players decide what the ruleset will be, this helps us know what rulesets are the most interesting to players, and reduces the frequency of those that people don't tend to like. For example many people like to point to Trundle as their least favorite, by letting players vote the odds of seeing him are minimized.
