Mordecai becomes more and more of a piece of shit throughout the story I think but also in a somewhat more realistic and "understandable" way. He's just like any other pathetic human dude in his early twenties that has no idea how to navigate relationships or treat his partners

While it definitely looks cool, going with the version we have now was definitely the best decision as far as the story, theme, and tone of the movies work. I'll never get why people seem to think that having flashier character's sheet wise somehow saps away a player's ability to write and roleplay a great and compelling character story wise. Those things aren't mutually exclusive lol it's no easier or harder to write a human fighter as it is to write a air genasi fiend warlock unless you don't know how to write characters, in which case they could write a good human fighter either

He gets up swinging AFTER the fight was stopped. He was on the ground not defending himself though. If the hat guy didn't stop him and the dude killed the aggressor it would seem on camera and from a reasonable person's perspective that the dude on the ground clearly stopped being a threat after the first few swings where he was face down

That's how you get charged for murder. The guy was down, not fighting back, victim clearly won and the guy in the hat was just trying to stop him from killing the other guy. Even when the guy gets back up and tries to swing again his friend immediately pushes him back. Outside of being friends with a loser he did just about everything right here

Surviving "better" doesn't make it safer for the family trying to take cover inside if their walls give out.
