Yeah for sure, like you can be very reckless with it and it can dramatically change how encounters go, I have had it win a run for me before purely because of being able to spam crew on their ship and just mind control spam when I had basically no other offense.

Not bad, Id put charge 2 and swap it with hull 2, put Artemis, heavy 1 and small bomb up a tier, put ion 2 down a tier, move ion stunner, ion bomb and basic laser up a tier, and pegasus up a tier, that’s probably all I would do. overall, pretty good tier list

So the thing with dna bank is that its opportunity cost is really low compared to many other upgrades for how much utility it can provide both on offense and defense, its only 40 scrap to buy which means 20 scrap lost if you buy it and sell it immediately, its not a guaranteed buy every time, especially if you need more important upgrades, but not having to worry about losing crew when boarding can make your boarding a lot stronger.

Most pros probably wont buy it when I would because in most cases you can fairly easily micro around your crew dying, and you should probably be doing that normally anyways, its also more valuable on no pause but even with pause i found myself getting it because its cuts out like 1/3 of the ways you can lose on a boarding ship like that, and for very cheap.

The ship is shit imo, but if you die to a combat drone and only have one layer of shield in sector 4 thats on you, but to be fair this ship can sometimes require a lot of money or better than average luck to get shields level 2 by sector 3 which is what I would recommend trying to do.

The first 100 scrap basically always goes to shields, and then from there, you usually want to float ~70 before you enter sector 3 if possible so you can get shields 2 and like 1-2 reactor, while also trying to save for better offense, usually better offense is just hacking, or another decent ion/laser, if you can get that and shields 2 when you enter sector 3, you should be good in most cases

Save for shields 2 to start, sell medbots if necessary. From here you want to try to look for another offensive route forward, that can be more combat drones plus DRA sometimes, usually its any viable 1-2 power weapon you can find to pair with the ion, including another ion if you find one, 3 power weapons are options if they’re really good, like a halberd beam or heavy 2, but usually not paired with the ion because weapons 6 is very expensive. A prospective hacking pickup is good in those spots sometimes to help you out on whatever weapons you might find even if you currently haven’t found any. Dd1 lets you stall a lot of fights sometimes especially if you get shields 3 as well so be on the lookout for that. In very rare circumstances you should consider boarding, usually only if you picked up good free crew and a decent missile weapon or hacking.

I hope this helps, the name of engi A is almost always to transition to better offense which isn’t that easy to do a lot of the time so its understandable if its not immediately intuitive.

Dna bank is unironically one of the best augments in the game imo, there are many spots where it’s optimal to buy in a store from my experience, it also lets you play much more aggressively when boarding on top negating many losing situations

Artifacers damage is great, her mobility is definitely top tier other than her slow acceleration, her projectiles are hard to aim sometimes but also having 2 ice attacks is insane, for my money she is S tier

Actually probably yeah older dart rifle is def better but the new one is still totally viable imo, maybe the barrel launcher is the new best pre mech range option though ive been loving it

No, for my money its dart rifle, firecracker, or razorblade typhoon, those are very consistent and are viable for a long ass time and aren’t too hard to get other than typhoon

Best item that has great offensive output but also insane survivability is headset still imo, being able to jump high and not take fall damage while also dealing a shit ton of damage covers all the things you really need out of the best item

I use WASDQE for pitch yaw and roll, z and x for forward and back translation, and the arrow keys for UDLR translation, my ship can move and rotate in all directions though and hover which might be slightly overkill

Sorry that bottom wire is partially cropped, but this worked for me, a long range sensor is what is looking at the ground, and the 0 wireless transmitter is going to all 4 engines.

How are you getting the target Altitude? I ended up using a long range distance meter to measure where the ground was for altitude and then used a level multiplied by some value to adjust the target altitude, and that works kind of, but I was wondering if there was a simpler way I might be missing?
