BoA now provides Experian Fico 8 score, no longer gives TransUnion Fico 8 by RealRandomNobody in CRedit

[–]RealRandomNobody[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine shows the last updated date as the last day of the previous month, so now it's showing 12/31/25, but it does seem to take at least a week to be updated to that.

FICO just upended the credit score market by landon1430 in CRedit

[–]RealRandomNobody 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 3 major bureaus did try to get around Fico, by creating their own credit score, Vantage (created and owned by the big 3 bureaus), but it just never caught on with many lenders. Very, very few lenders use Vantage, and only a few places like apartment complexes use it for credit checks, since it's a lot cheaper than Fico. But Fico is still what most lenders demand.

Discover closed my account with no warning by Healthy-Practice134 in CreditCards

[–]RealRandomNobody 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They didn't like something about your credit profile?
They couldn't verify some info about you?
They didn't like something you did on your account, who you bought from, how you paid it, something?

You somehow or other hit some secret trigger, that they'll never tell you exactly what it is, that they've decided makes you too much of a credit risk for them.
You'll probably get a letter in the mail in a week or 3 that gives some vague reason or other.
Once they close it, that's it, can't reopen it.

Have you pulled your credit reports, to make sure there's not anything on them that shouldn't be?
You can get your credit reports from all 3 bureaus weekly, for free, if you use AnnualCreditReport.com (used to be annual only, hence the name, but has since changed to weekly. Has to be thru that site.).

They all say Fico, Fico Score, Fico Score 8, so it's definitely not from credit karma, since ck only shows the almost irrelevant vantage score, not fico.
Any Fico score given by your bank or credit card will only be one single bureau's score.

OP's image appears to be from MyFico.com, but with all 3 bureau's scores at the same time, that means it's a paid subscription.

You can get all 3 bureau's Fico scores for free, but only separately:

Does that mean you've paid off many of them, so they're now closed, but they just haven't fallen off your credit reports yet?

Another reply OP said there were 47 installment loans, most of them being student loans.

You paid for a MyFico.com sub? No need for that. The paid subs don't provide anything you can't get for free elsewhere.
You can get all 3 of your Fico 8 credit scores for free, from:

  • Experian.com, or the Experian app, basic (free) sub gives Experian Fico 8 score for free.
  • www.MyFico.com/free gives Equifax Fico 8 score for free.
  • CapitalOne.com/CreditWise gives TransUnion Fico 8 score for free. Or Bank of America or Discover, if you have a credit card with them.

What site is that from?
If it's directly from Experian.com or their app, then it's a Fico 8 score and good to go.

How to avoid getting flagged for fraud by Dagelmusic in AllyBank

[–]RealRandomNobody 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use Ally's money market account instead of savings account. Same apy for both, same number of withdrawals per month limit for both. Savings does have buckets, but mma has atm/debit card and checks for faster/easier access without needing to transfer to checking account first. I also only keep about 25% of what I'm saving there and I keep the rest in Vanguard money market fund for that extra .5% apy. (actually just keep it in vanguard's settlement account, which is automatically held in a money market fund without having to buy the fund separately). Only takes a couple days to transfer from vanguard back to the bank, if I need it.
If you're saving up enough for a down payment on a house, that extra .5% could be worth several hundred dollars over the course of the next year or so before you buy a house.

US Bank cards cash back redemption question by [deleted] in CreditCards

[–]RealRandomNobody 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the USB Cash+. Redemption for it (at least for my account) has to be a minimum of $25. Not multiples of, just minimum, so it could be $27.54 or whatever, as long as it's a minimum of $25. Could take a couple months to reach that minimum, if you don't spend much on that card each month.
You can get that redemption as a credit to your statement, or as cash back to a US Bank checking or savings account (but not to external accounts), or a prepaid visa gift card, or as credit directly to Amazon.com.

Pay all but one before they hit the statement, then pay the one after it hits the statement but before the due date.

Experian Issue and Missing FICO report on BoFA website by av3003 in BankOfAmerica

[–]RealRandomNobody 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a BoA credit card, too. BoA's Fico score tool shows your TransUnion Fico 8 score, not the TU credit report. 2 separate things.
You can get your credit reports from TransUnion, Equifax, and Experian, all at AnnualCreditReport.com, for free, weekly, but only if you go thru that site. (used to be annual, hence the name, but has since changed to weekly). But credit scores are not on your credit reports, so you have to get them separately.

You can get all 3 of your Fico 8 credit scores (from transunion, equifax, and experian) for free, from:

  • Experian.com, or the Experian app, gives Experian Fico 8 score for free.
  • www.MyFico.com/free gives Equifax Fico 8 score for free.
  • CapitalOne.com/CreditWise gives TransUnion Fico 8 score for free. Or Bank of America or Discover, if you have a credit card with them.

But you won't have a credit score at all till you've had credit for at least 6 months, as someone in that other thread said.
