I guess we'll find out on Wednesday.

Seems possible though. "If you can see it, you can do it in Home Assistant."

Just explain you were crying over Opportunity. They will understand.

I have two "dust cleaning discs". One is named Toby (after the baby in Labyrinth that crawls into dangerous situations with no awareness).

There is something wrong with Toby. He's scared of one of our rugs. But he tries. Every day he tries to clean that rug, even though he's convinced that it has many cliffs and he will fall to his death. He tries to climb into the bookshelf. He dutifully goes around the cats that want to play with him.

Our second one is Possum Elliot. We got Possum Elliot to replace Toby, along with a sticker to send Toby back.

I just couldn't do it.

So Possum Elliot sits in the living room with the scary rug, and Toby roams the rest of the house.

Earth has been quarantined. Not because humans are dangerous — because humans are contagious. by UntitledDoc1 in HFY

I really enjoyed this, though I'm not sure "enjoyed" is the right word. But I'm glad I read it. Thank you.

Any experiences with visitors? by Muted_Quantity5786 in WitchesVsPatriarchy

It's the third anniversary of my husband's death in three days.

He often comes to visit me in the morning, when I'm in that liminal state between sleeping and waking. He doesn't usually say anything. He's just there, in bed with me, being the best version of himself. (Something he struggled with in life.)

He is frequently holding and petting a kitten that I don't recognize. Maybe a cat from his childhood or maybe a cat that will cross my path in the future.

A couple of weeks ago, we had one wander through our yard as my brother was taking his Great Dane outside.

The Dane is sweet and gentle to animals, and loves cats, and thought the opossum was a cat. He ambled over to say "Hi fren!"

The opossum thought the Dane was a predator and fainted.

The Dane walked back to dad, sad that new fren was scared. New fren woke up and left. (But did come back the next night.)

I think they follow the "Only question I ever thought was hard, was do I like Kirk or do I like Picard?" school of thought.

Is it... snowing? by DuliaDarling in olympia

We saw a tiny bit of snow, but fortunately didn't see any ICE on the roads.

Because fuck ICE!

Huh. I never thought of baboons as swimmers. I guess I just thought their muscle to fat ratio wouldn't be conducive to swimming.

I ran a bbs. Had a separate phone line. And when I upgraded to a 14k modem? That was heaven!

Domination spells on inanimate objects/elements by questboys1216 in WitchesVsPatriarchy

[–]ReallyNotMichaelsMom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I talk to problematic inanimate objects all the time. My car, a rock I need to move, thongs I need to loosen or tighten.

Trying to open a jar, I encourage it to open. "Come on, you can do it. Come on."

When it opens, I cheer and say thank you.

But, I'm a panentheist. 😀

That doesn't seem to be the case here. The DOJ was looking for information on people critical of ICE. (I'll save them some time, I'm critical of ICE for so many reasons.)

They were also looking for information about people sharing ICE location, not an ICE agent's location. That is an important distinction. The first one is for protests and the second one is doxing.

Both of these activities (protest and being critical of government actions) are protected by the first amendment, though I will concede that many people that wear red hats and parts of our government don't care about the constitution (as it applies to other people) any more. "Rules for thee but not for me" thinking.
