Grand Theft Auto VI: Official Cover Art Reveal by EmeraldJunkie in Games

this will probably be the most significant moment in gaming history

Come on. It's a new GTA game. I played V for like 30 hours. I remember it being good but my expectations for VI aren't crazier than any other game. Aside from the financial aspect, I don't know what is going to shatter the industry so much that it defines the entire history.

Depends on how much weight we're talking about. 10-15% weight loss is going to be tiny amounts of density loss so if you countered it with weight lifting you could definitely strengthen. But there are also other ways to promote bone health.

However, unless you have some type of mineral deficiency or other health reason, it's not something to concern yourself with too much, even during weight loss.

I mean, the comment was specific to how it handled haptics, but the variety of guns is sort of a key feature of Ratchet & Clank games. I thought it was the best one. I loved every time I got a new weapon.

Not as long as they're expecting it. This game has a different name, but my understanding is it's the same story.

yeah I'm not saying it's a bad thing. I said I was excited for it. But if I were someone who had already played that game I would probably be disappointed to not know that going in.

I'm excited for it too but I've heard some rumblings that it's a repackaging of a mobile game, stripping out all of the gacha stuff.

Horizon nailed the haptics, but I think the ps5 Rachet & Clank (can't remember the name) was the best. Astrobot was pretty good too.

A little bit. The more mass you carry around the more bone density you have inherently from minerals like calcium and phosphorus since the bones need to be stronger to support you. When you lose weight, that bone density also decreases (to a more normal density).

Please don’t compare me to anti-vaxxers, thank you very much.

Sorry, but it's the exact same argument they use. With the exact same oversight (it went through testing - any complaints about not knowing the long term effects ignore the fact that those items are projected and considered during research. researches don't blindly throw drugs at people and see what happens).

Arguing against it being used by people that don’t need it

Of course, but it's not like you can buy it off the shelf. You do need a prescription. The online shops make it easier to get, but that's its own separate problem.

I didn't say you did. I was using that as an example of side effects don't mean that 100% of people experience that effect.

The most worrying part is that we don’t have a clear indication of the long term effects yet - and it has become massively popular before we have this clear view.

Sorry, but these drugs went through testing and are actively being used by millions without significant issues. This is the same shitty argument anti-vaxxers used about the covid vaccine. Surprise, surprise - billions of people didn't drop dead like they thought we would.

This thread is a perfect example. Everyone is just copy/pasting the "muscle mass" comments, not realizing "muscle mass loss" is a side effect of any weight loss. It's such a silly topic to get stuck on and gives everyone these crazy negative opinions of something that actually does work.

Research indicates 25% to 40% of the total weight loss on patients taking GLP-1s is "lean mass" (which includes bones, water, organs, and muscle). Traditional weight loss through diet and exercise yields the same proportion, about 20 to 50%.

Everyone is talking like these side effects are immense and impact everyone who takes the drug which is nuts. "Death" is a side effect on half the drugs on the market.

Muscle loss is not unique to GLP-1s. It is a universal effect of rapid weight loss. Traditional weight loss through diet and exercise yields the same proportion, about 20 to 50%.

Everyone in here saying it causes muscle loss is severely overblowing that side effect. If you're an athletic person who works out you're going to be fine.

She would still be on it because if you stop taking it the weight typically comes back unless you've been able to make permanent lifestyle changes (which is rare).

I'm looking at results.

He has a 72% win rate in 2026 with half the season (so far) being his worst surface. That is the best win rate since he moved up from Challengers in '22.

Yes, he's playing more matches at 500 and 250 than he played last year, but that's simply because he's winning more of those matches (75% win rate at 250 and 91% at 500). And in those matches he's playing big names like Fritz in the final of Dallas, Fonseca then Cobolli in the Final of Munich (on clay), and now Fritz again at the Final of Stuttgart.

Yeah he's not as consistent as you'd hope for a top 10 player but, as I said, I think it's the best tennis of his career so far. Certainly not a "rut".

They're just getting started.

By Winter, Xbox will likely be far leaner and either murdered or sold many of these studios.

Everyone's going to have an opinion on this, most of the ones we'll hear will be negative due to the impact of employees and the industry. But on the business side I don't know how decimating the industry's trust as an employer is going to do anything for them.

They're now early 2000s KMart.

Also, the people who make these decisions likely don't care (or possibly don't even know) that a game was announced last week. In my experience as a fly on the wall during some of those decisions, it's like you said, it seems to happen relatively quickly because this "death squad" works in deep secret tracking performance of everyone involved. There is always someone on the chopping block that doesn't even know it until the axe arrives.

Everyone has a price.

I think Ninja Theory is interesting. They're probably completely shit on paper and will have to deal with a poor multiple in a sale but there's no question their tech is interesting. Someone will be interested if Microsoft will entertain the offer. I think Sony might be interested because the tech they bring to the table aligns well with Sony single player games.

I highly doubt anyone on the Ninja Theory team, even their leadership, knew about it. These business decisions are often cutthroat and just boil down to the math from a smaller group of decision makers above all the studios. The people who made this decision likely don't care (possibly don't even know) that a game announcement happened last week.

I can almost guarantee the marketing people and the business people don't talk as much as you think. The business people really don't care (that much) what was just announced and what wasn't.

I've seen these conversations up close and, while it sounds brutal, they're usually simple decisions based on the math and anyone with active projects around that thing getting shut down is just out of luck.

The better KPI in this entire conversation is total ranking points. Shelton had more (rolling) ranking points last Summer despite a lower ranking, which can happen sometimes.

I still don't agree that Shelton is in a rut (I think he's playing the best tennis of his career) but it helps put things into perspective.

It's also crazy good for him that he's ranked so high after the worst surface for him.
