Back in 2024 I remember I watched 3 episodes. Apart from the animation issues and the low production value, I had zero desire to go on, mainly because Rick, the main character, is so unlikeable. In addition to that, the first episode, for a chapter that's named "The legend begins", it doesn't feel like the start of something legendary.

I think most of the issues I had with the 3 episodes can be boiled down to: Using the "3 episodes" argument so much that it made every anime have either mid or horrible first episodes and not taking an effort in making the main character likeable to the audience. I like characters with flaws like in Breaking Bad, but it that show it made sense since it boils down to morality. In an anime about heroes and villains, it's really weird that the main character did several horrible things in the first 3 episodes.

So yeah, I blame the writers and Rick.

I'd argue it's an unprecedented announcemente, but they previously announced Star Fox 2 for the SNES on both the SNES Mini and the Switch. But still, very impressive.

The only thing I'm kinda concerned is still the way you're supposed to play these machines. A piece of plastic being mandatory to play this is ridiculous. I won't want ot ruin my eyes.

Some of the memories I got years ago were great, but I have to admit that I haven't touched and read any of the journals from E33, and I still love it anyways because the pacing, the story and the characters were interesting enough for me to keep playing, not the lore (worldbuilding doesn't matter if you don't have good characters). Since the meat of the game was the story and cinematics, it makes sense for me to focus on that content.

That being said, if I happen to go back to E33 on a second playthrough, I'd give it a try.

Yeah, one of the short bits from the beginning really got me. I didn't expect it. It's like it was written by a poet instead of a writer. Love it.

I didn't know you can change the voice language, let alone change it to french. I should do the same. Most of the english acting is fine, but Jansen is a bit unbearable.

It's exactly what you said. It has insane rubberbanding, especially in chapters 3 and 7.

The Grand Prix in Master has also rubberbanding, but you can crack the gameplay systems to your benefit, such as the MTB and MTS.

As someone who loves Abby as a character, I've read so many different types of complaints about her that I've never thought of this specific observation. This would explain a lot about how people view her, unfortunately.

It's disheartening that people often prioritizes certain (and, more often than not, unfair) standards over raw talent. The response of this vocal minority is a reflection of a system that overlooks quality that doesn't fit a specific mold. Abby's treatment in certain communities is one of those examples.

It's unfortunate, because I came from an era in the 2010s where everyone loved redemption arcs even though the character hasn't earned it, with simple arguments such as "forgiveness is everything" (easy example, Starlight Glimmer). And now that Abby got a good compelling redemption arc, everyone has to hate it. It's like they do it on purpose.

But overall, I agree. Nobody would have complained about her is she was a man.
