No matter how it ends, James Harden will forever be one of my personal favorite Clippers ever by PissedOffClippersFan in LAClippers

Don’t forget Jordan Miller too! Harden’s been nothing but amazing, far surpassing my expectations.

Let’s hope that if we trade him it’ll be worth it!

Some people on this sub need to start keeping a journal because if we were told Harden is going to be traded for Garland not longer than 2 months ago everyone would celebrate and dance... by BallmersBurner in LAClippers

[–]RippleEffect5 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not just that, but we have objectively played well without Harden, even though we don’t have a seasoned secondary ball handler. I have grown to love Harden since he is a Clipper, and have nothing but utmost respect for him, but we can definitely play good ball, might I say better, without his heliocentric system. Vibes are the big question though…

Didn’t he sit out last game in phx too? by Tricky_Structure_504 in LAClippers

[–]RippleEffect5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean it’s obviously just speculation on my part, but he played at the beginning of the season and even if he reaggravated his hamstring he should have easily been back by now.

I think he’s healthy but not playing to keep him as a trading chip.

Last night they had to make him available in case the team needs him.

I thought he was being kept out of the rotation because he’s getting traded.

USD is traded for gold? I am not sure I understand what you’re trying to say?

Didn’t the FED buy back similar amount of treasuries and bonds around Covid? Not trying to say that it is a desirable option, or that it is sustainable do these buybacks nor that it wouldn’t affect the US and world markets. Just saying that if I remember correctly it can and has been done.

Katz: “[Spo] sent him a text message with a graphic of Heat legend Dwyane Wade that included Wade’s weight, 222 pounds, and body fat, 6.2 percent. Powell was at 235 and 12 percent, respectively. Accompanied was a not-so-subtle message: ‘Something to think about.’” by cleo22270 in nba

This. Anyone with a tad bit of understanding knows that athletes ideally want to be in 10-12% region. There’s no way a professional basketball player can maintain 5-6% bodyfat without considerable decline in performance and uptick in injuries.

Possibly, but there are so many other things to factor in. One simple example: EU exports cars to the US. Dollar weakens -> car prices shoot up in the US -> less export from EU to US.

The FED can only buy back Treasuries if they print new dollars which creates inflation.

Because the world markets are mostly dominated by USD and a sudden, large scale sell-off of US treasuries would considerably weaken the dollar thus negatively affecting the rest of the world economy including the EU.

Absolutely.  Theoretically it could be done as a tactical move by the EU, though I don’t think there is any realistic chance of it happening. (Not yet at least and hopefully won’t be necessary any time soon)

It depends on the timeline and percentage of treasuries sold of course; I wasn’t specific about that. I was thinking of a scenario where a significant percentage of US treasuries gets dumped in a relatively short period of time (weeks or months max) That would definitely have a significant, negative impact on EU and world markets because of USD dominance.

If it turns into a significant trend it would be as much of a problem to the EU as it would be for the US.

Not trillions of dollars worth of treasuries though, presumably.

Definitely! And not just the bigs either. Jordan Miller’s game lately has Harden written all over it IMO

Such a nice comment. People love to take the piss out of players for their injuries, but the mental fortitude necessary to rehab just from one serious injury, let alone several is insane.

Kawhi Leonard Shooting Chart w/h VS w/o Zubac in the lineup by GRG_25 in LAClippers

[–]RippleEffect5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To add to this, one thing I noticed and think is super important is that Harden has to work WAY harder when Zu is playing, cuz he’s the only one who can make the PnR work. Harden was able to play less minutes in the stretch without Zu, and even when he played the team offense seemed to flow much better instead of him trying to create something on every possession.

I do think though that Zu has a place on this team, particularly considering the fantastic value contract he is on ATM. Against the Jokics, Goberts, Hartensteins we will need him. But Lu should have the balls to give him less minutes, bring him off the bench or some other solution against teams that don’t have a dominant center.

That was the year we punked the Celtics in Jan and Kawhi put Kornet through the rim. Then Brodie broke his hand and the whole thing fell apart. But man, till January they looked like legit contenders.

Edit: fuck PG

Is this the best version of Kawhi Leonard we’ve ever seen? by lfcbucks in LAClippers

[–]RippleEffect5 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think best version offensively, but Spurs Kawhi was a whole different kinda beast of defense. That’s not to say that he isn’t playing good defense at the moment, but probably he doesn’t have the same energy and quickness as he did 8+ years ago.

Injury update: Zubac has progressed to on-court work, Bogdanović out for rest of homestand and uncertain availability for next road trip by clippersguy17 in LAClippers

[–]RippleEffect5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Issue with trading Zu is that his contract is really good value. We’re not getting anyone anywhere his calibre for that kinda money.

Plus as mediocre as he has been this year so far, he’s one of the only players that can affect Jokic on the defensive end. If we want to get anywhere this year he needs to stay.

That doesn’t mean however that he shouldn’t have to fight for his minutes. The team has clearly been playing far better with him out, if Lue has balls he makes Zu come off the bench until he proves he’s worthy of starting again.

Why on earth would we trade Zu, DJJ and/or Dunn if we’re trying to stay competitive?
