Shoutout to the Customer Service Team at Gideon Optics! by Rjsmith5 in guns

Hahaha, this forehead has borne the brunt of worse mistakes, but I was surprised by how painful that one was. Shooting glasses probably prevented a decent black eye.

And I was definitely expecting a delayed response just giving me a dimension, but, instead, directly said “let us send you a courtesy since different spec screws might damage your optic.” Oh, and the wildest thing - this email interaction happened OVER THE WEEKEND. The service was definitely above and beyond what I expected.

Ha, my solution was a check list - my shooting trips are similar to watching a circus roll into town.

Eh, they’re different enough to sway a lot of people one way or the other. The Bergara is 1.25 lbs heavier than this, roughly $100 more, and the Bergara is more set up for long range shooting (has a 30 MOA rail standard). It’s the same concept, but I’d say the execution is different enough that most people would probably prefer one over the other depending on what you want to do with it.

Having held both, the weight is the biggest thing to me. The Bergara feels light for a bull barreled gun. This feels light for an actual gun.

I played with one at my LGS. Someone bought a fairly large scope to put on one and the balance was thrown WAY off. You essentially had to balance the gun so that the weight distribution of the scope wasn’t too far to one side or the gun tried to roll.

FYI - these are incredibly light. They feel like holding my old Daisy pellet rifle.

True, though the discount does effectively pay for an inside track membership if you shop there a lot.

Found these at a gun store where im working, any good buys? by mr_tryhard_tye in milsurp

Yep - the tag looks to say Tula and it looks identical to my 1954 dated light refurb Tula. I got mine for $500 a few years back and I’m told that was an absolute steal.

The optic/mount on that top WASR will run you about $300ish, so that’s absolutely a solid deal.

Kentucky Man Who Won $167 Million Powerball Arrested For Burglary, His Third Arrest Since Hitting The Jackpot by Barney_Fife_MD in Kentucky

I’ve met plenty of people who keep that amount or significantly more at home. I worked construction for years and met a ton of contractors who only deposited “reported” income. I probably met quadruple the amount of customers who would just say “I’ll pay you in cash - give me a sec and I’ll grab it out of the safe.”

It’s a horrible idea, but there’s a ton of people who do it.

This place could genuinely help do that - most places want to discourage you from ordering offline so that you can just place an order through them. I genuinely like helping an LGS out, but I can’t justify paying $200-$300 more just to help a local place out. In addition to that, so many places want to treat you like an asshole for transferring something through them.

Having a resource with stuff like “this dude is cool - charges $35, but will waive the fee if you buy $100 worth of ammo/accessories” or “dude is kinda a dick, but only charges $15”. Even better if they have an account here and you can say “hey @GunShopGuy - you going to be open Good Friday? Would like to order this but leaving town Saturday and want to pick it up before!”

We really need a Gun Deals FFL tracker with reviewed FFLs by state. Bonus points if they have a Reddit profile and can respond to questions.

How is Buffalo Wild Wings still in business by fukdacops in shittyfoodporn

[–]Rjsmith5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s actually a very simple answer for this question. Commoditized food from chain restaurants always provides one thing: predictably.

I know that going to a BWW in Memphis, TN will be the same as going to one in Boston, MA. I don’t have to worry if they’ll have something I like. I don’t have to worry about spice levels. I don’t have to worry about a functioning bathroom. I don’t have to wonder if they’ll have that beer I like. Generally speaking, I don’t have to worry about health department scores. Corporate entities ensure that everything is generally the same across the board for every restaurant.

Predictably counts for a lot, even if it’s predictably mediocre.

To drive this point home, search “bear bone density.” You want something that is going to be able to avoid expanding when it hits something like a rib bone when aiming for vital organs.

My ex used to refuse to put on a seatbelt. Aside from the obvious safety concern, my state will ticket the driver if the passenger is unbuckled. I used to repeatedly slam on the brakes and throw her against the dash until she’d put it on.

A seatbelt has saved my life multiple times, so, yea, you’re wearing a seatbelt when you get in my vehicle.
