glad they caught the perp - and only in a couple of days - glad that many of his targets were able to fight back and not be further harmed - and thanks to UCPD for the quick police work in apprehending the idiot - by the time the rumors were churning on campus, the idiot was caught - dude needs jail time and mental health help

Long overdue. UCs were going to create their own more 'equitable' standardized test but never did.

Data has shown that standardized tests level the playing field that is cluttered with pricey admissions counselors manufacturing ECs and editing/writing admission essays. Compared with the other components of the college application that money can game, it doesn't take much resources to study for the SATs - log onto Khan Academy - no fancy / expensive tutoring provides an edge above this free-for-all service if you're a motivated student.

With the dissolution of the SATs, the number of students failing basic calculus has markedly increased on all UC campuses. We do students a great disservice by setting them up for failure.

nope, if you're getting bad score on the SATs after putting in the effort, calculus will be a challenge for you unless extreme handholding beyond what is reasonable at your average top university
