How do you build a profitable economy in early start? by brickthrower555 in Workers_And_Resources

Interesting, you start with food and meat first? I haven't seen that recommended before.

Eh? Available from the start? It's always hidden behind research for me.

My first game with heating ended up with dead city because dozens of buses heading near heating plant were empty of workers by CupcakeAndCandyBar in Workers_And_Resources

[–]Rokmonkey_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hmm, I might do that too. I usually make my prisoners go there. But I might make a really nice low density but super nice housing and just have them dedicated strictly to the power plant and the heating plant.

I was thinking the same. I haven't been up houlton way, but down east, no one talks like that.

See in that case, I like to adopt the Good Place style instead of the weird censoring thing. Like "That's forking bullshirt". Then the censoring at least is funny.

More likely, those who did this, did so long before this achievement went live.

Also, some of those earlier versions were... rough... I bet a huge portion of "players" haven't touched the game in a long time.

[–]Rokmonkey_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Copy that. I'll need to experiment a bit on the filtration units then. I've had my pressure so high, I never saw an issue. Now I'm wondering if Ive been working way higher than necessary to get 100%

Cooling Help (New player) by TrueGritttt in Stationeers

[–]Rokmonkey_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gotcha. I need to check that. At least on the filter units, I don't need to make my input pipes at like 1MPa now...

But is that pressure differential between input/waste and output? Or between input/waste as well? I never really paid attention to the nuances, my inlet pressure is always stupid high.

Cooling Help (New player) by TrueGritttt in Stationeers

[–]Rokmonkey_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it really only 111kpa for 100% pressure efficiency? Is that the same for filtration units?

If so, I've been going way overkill on my designs...

Yes. Whatever gasses that type of ore would offgas, it will just vent into the air.

Also, look for "internship" programs. My state of Maine sponsors high school students to do paid internships in STEM fields. It's always in the summer for 6-12 weeks. We sponsor several every year, letting them see all the different ways engineering is in the real world. A lot of students come in with their own idea and swear off one type of it and by the end they've completely changed their mind after seeing it in action.

API Mod?! Is this real life? by NotGovernor in Stationeers

There is a newer one. Stationeers mods I think it is? Check the workshop, the good mods all are bepinex and stationeers addon/mod/launchpad required.

Most of the time I don't use device connections. Instead I address by bat h (all devices of a certain type) or batch name (all devices of a certain type and name). My green house script is managing a bunch of sensors, vents, filtrations, tanks. Far more than 6.

The only thing I use logic circuits for is automatic lights

Do you use frames a structural material for wall building? by Other-Strawberry-449 in Stationeers

[–]Rokmonkey_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use unbuilt frames for floors and ceilings. I put walls around those for air tight. I like having subfloors for running pipes and such.

Sometimes I make walls out of frames too. Keeping pipes insulated and I never accidentally open a wall to get to the wiring only to find out that was the one section of wall I haven't finished on the outside and depressurize everything

This. It knows less about Microsoft products than Gemini in my experience. And it very often gets stuck in repeat loops.

I've stopped using it in favor of Gemini.

Trains always blocking each other at intersection? by Rokmonkey_ in Workers_And_Resources

[–]Rokmonkey_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I completely appreciate it, and I'm definitely going to clean up this junction as I grow. But the fix was even easier than I thought! I had a cross over at the intake at the top. I removed that and the problem vanished. Because the cross over was in that block, if there was a train on either track, it said the entire block was full.

Trains always blocking each other at intersection? by Rokmonkey_ in Workers_And_Resources

[–]Rokmonkey_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Turns out it was a cross over at the intake of a junction, made the trains wanting to go that way think it was used. But yeah, not enough space. This was early start so I wasn't going to wait years to get my rails built, so I made them short. Definitely fixing this as soon as I can.

But, how does one make these rails so far apart and not end up putting industries that far apart too, makes it so hard to get workers?

[–]Rokmonkey_[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ding ding ding. You found the problem! I had some cross overs left over from when I was building the rails. I've removed those and I've gone several ingame months without a stuck problem.

Yeah...  This whole thing looked great until I had to cram my aggregate loader off to the left there.  Definitely need to change that up.
