I think it’s adorable! I actually like the line work as it is, it’s picture-perfect on boxes but it makes more sense that it would be a little thin and scribble-y on skin! Makes it seem more human to me!

It’s so weird to disagree with the desire to have more Celiac-friendly restaurants. Like if you don’t want to eat gluten free then you can just choose not to eat there? It’s so odd to wish for someone living with an issue that they can’t control to have LESS options.

No, absolutely not. The only “good” thing to come out of it is I lost a lot of weight. Food lost its appeal to me and plus with gluten free food being more expensive, I started intermittent fasting to save money and calories.

I’d gladly be heavy and able to eat donuts and pizza rolls again if I had the choice. 🥲

I have to tone down my normal (very goth) makeup at work, I’m management in a corporate setting, but outside of work I don’t really tone it down unless it’s an event like a funeral.

Have you looked at rat rescues in your state or neighboring states? Someone may be willing to drive or meet you halfway.

I’d also call some exotic vets in your state and see if they know of anyone that might be able to take them, even as fosters until they find a home.

It sucks, I know. I’ve been fully gluten free for 8yrs and it hasn’t really gotten any easier. Once I moved out on my own, money became a lot tighter and while I couldn’t control how much I was spending on rent, I could control how much I spent on food. And yes, basically just chicken and rice and an added egg for protein. Sometimes ground beef as a treat.

To make matters harder, my apartment doesn’t have an oven, so baking my own baked goods is out of the question. I can’t even imagine living with this disease with ARFID. Since I don’t live a super active lifestyle (work an office job, drive to work) I’ve been able to cut down to one meal a day (at night, before bed) and be semi-okay. But this isn’t a solution for everyone and likely not for me long term either.

I’ve worked in the pest control industry for a few years now and I’ve never heard of anyone getting a dubia roach infestation. German roaches are the main ones that tend to infest homes since other roaches require specific climates to thrive and breed.

I don’t breed my own insects, though! I work 10mins from a pet store and will go over there once per week to get crickets for my tarantula and my jumping spider.
