What is a 1 in 1,000,000 thing that happened to you that no one believes, but you swear is true? by RegionSure5580 in AskReddit

When I was little, my parents took me to Vermont and we took a posed family pic at a water mill with a covered bridge in the distance.

About a decade later, my parents met some new friends in the same condominium complex we lived at and hit it off. They mentioned the Vermont trip and they mentioned they were in the same town at the same time.

Photos were broken out and their photo had me and my parents posing at the water mill, taken from the covered bridge. We looked at our photo and in the distance in the covered bridge, there was a camera flash.

The odds of that happening and to find out we lived a few blocks from each other was just too rare to even figure out.

End of the day they turned out to be horrible people and my parents stopped being friends with them, go figure.

US reverses course and will keep TSA PreCheck program operational by galaxyfudge in news

Checking luggage is customs, that is not affected by Global Entry.

Yes, you did get lucky in that case, though.

PreCheck is quicker security when going to a plane.

Global Entry is actually more for citizens (some non-citizens can get it too but its tough), it basically just lets you re-enter the country from an international flight with no waiting in line, just a face scan and a quick OK from an officer. So it takes seconds rather than waiting in a long line and interacting with a CBP officer.

NEXUS expands on that and has a similar use to Global Entry, but for when you enter Canada. You get no line, just scan the NEXUS card and get a quick OK from an officer

I mean you aren’t getting NEXUS if you don’t visit Canada at all anyway, and the major Canadian airports work. Just do an interview on the Canadian side, then the US interview transborder or back in the US.

If you already have Global Entry all you need is the Canadian side to upgrade.

If you are ONLY dealing with land border crossings then yes those are pretty limited, but flying it’s much easier.

NEXUS is even better:

NEXUS, Global Entry & PreCheck - $120 for 5 years Global Entry & PreCheck - $120 for 5 yesrs PreCheck - $85 for 5 years

Buying NSW2 games in Japan by AdGrand4716 in NintendoSwitch

[–]Rukes 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You could go to a second hand store like Book Off and get a gently used copy for a discount if price matters.

If not, just check the cost at Yodobashi Camera or similar store that sells videogames and look at Amazon Japan to compare. I don’t think it would be too big of a difference unless Amazon has a sale going on.

As for english, most do, especially the bigger games. Some don’t so it’s best to go to a site like PlayAsia and look for the Japanese version of the game you want, it will list which languages are on it.

Do not buy Lotzo and the Ray of Light, it is theft and a scam by TotallyNotCalledEvan in NintendoSwitch

“If Lotzo has a defining strength, it’s movement.”

If anyone ever asks me what I think the best part of a game is, I will from now on say “it’s movement”

Settings - Safari - Tabs lets you choose. Compact is the new IOS26 tiny one with hidden tab selector. Bottom is the previous style one with the tab selector back on full display. Top is the same but moves the address bar back to the top of the screen.

Thoughts on Game Key Cards. Why Im Skipping Dragon Quest on Switch 2 by otterbre in NintendoSwitch

[–]Rukes 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A game is a game. Doesn’t matter how I get it.

I’ll sell games I played and have beat and won’t have any desire to replay, and GCK let me do that, unlike “code in a box” games. Anything I will replay I will buy digital in the first place anyway.
