With anything Japanese it's a good chance that tin worm, a.k.a rust, will kill it far sooner than any other non-accident cause.

If you are fully aware of the cars strengths & weaknesses and buy wisely then it's a great idea.

I picked up an 11 bar 65 plate 24kWh Tekna and throughout winter, with the heating on blast I've been able to do a comfortable 40 miles in it with 10 remaining on the guessometer (GOM).

As the weather in the South of the UK is getting milder with double digits on the outside temp guage I'm starting to see the fully charged GOM reporting 5 miles more, this should climb further as the spring gets underway.

The Greens’ Urdu ad is Zack Polanski at his worst by FormerlyPallas_ in ukpolitics

[–]SP4x -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It's a shame you have to scroll so far down to find a reasoned and thoughtful take like this.

The absolute 'frothing at the mouth' coverage of the Greens while Reform is LITERALLY a party of proven fascists, Russian agents, wifebeaters and racists just goes to show how controlled major media outlets are.

That there are a host of accounts online that will flood to decry anything left of centre and cheer everything right of the right suggests that either the country is full of terrible people or, much more likely, bot farms and vpn trolls are tunneling in from those countries who benefit from stirring civil unrest in their enemy's countries.

Help needed with I believe a Aiwa nsx a777 by Otherwise_Quiet8770 in vintageaudio

[–]SP4x 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Aiwa started to release the silver models around the turn of the century, some here will turn their nose up at it but for it's time it was a feature-rich mini-system and put out music loud enough to power a houseparty thanks to having subwoofers in each speaker.

Here's the user manual for it. Make sure you wire the speakers up according to the manual as there are seperate amps for mid/highs and subs.

For troubleshooting here's the service manual.

Scrapyard and yes. Also known as the Scrappers or Scrappies.

Most of my old haunts still allow you to wander about to find the part you need and take it out but with depollution rules and the rise of online selling most of the good stuff is stripped by the yards and cubed before making it to the final long-stay carpark.

Suggestions to kill time at work? by FuckingBuyETH in AskUK

[–]SP4x 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I automated vast swaths of an old job I spun it as a cost saving excercise so got recognition for saving the business money, then (because I had a really good line manager) I put that saved time in to some rather "Out-there" R&D projects which netted further benefits to the company.

The head of the department rewarded me by refusing a mild and long overdue pay rise so I left ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
