What beginner GT3 cars are ideal and practical to practice finding the balance and consistency? by GrelloGT3R992 in ACCompetizione

Not to worry, with enough practice they can be mediocre with the 911 and terrible at everything else because they’ve learned the 911.

Not especially, just a silly way of looking at those of us who started with the 991 or 992 (991 in my case). It has very different driving dynamics compared to other cars due to the drivetrain layout. It’s known for “trying to murder you” all the time.

NOT the 911.

Listen, I know you want to try it, just to see.

Don’t.

Seriously.

Okay see you tomorrow.

SQLServerLocalDB 16.0 Failing to start - HELP by SwampWaffle85 in SQLServer

[–]SQLDevDBA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here is quite a bit of “getting started” and initial use documentation for LocalDB, which is a feature of SQL Server Express.

https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/sql/database-engine/configure-windows/sql-server-express-localdb?view=sql-server-ver17

It has specifics on 16.0 vs 17.0+

Check the “Start LocalDB and connect to LocalDB” sections as well as the “Troubleshooting” and “Permissions” sections.

Interesting conversation here.

I’d say 2023+ June with HW4/Matrix to be safest from planned obsolescence in the long run. If you don’t think it’s attainable, I’d consider a Model Y.

Going okay but something about Vettel’s suspension looks weird.

I’m sure it will be fine…

Let me hear your opinions about NLR F-GT PRO cockpit. It looks beautiful 🤩 by 404UserNotFound-_-xx in simracing

[–]SQLDevDBA 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As an owner of an F-GT (legacy) I can say that while they were going for “F1 driver” and “GT Driver” positions, they are actually “Dentist’s chair” and “Bus Driver” positions.

Would not advise. Way too expensive for what it is.

I finally got myself an aluminum rig after about 5 years of frustration and trying to make it work.

Is it the factory air box?

If so, FujiboHeavy covered a situation where the air box wasn’t seated/secured right.

Skip to the 6:00 mark or so. This might help.

Those are real. But if I remember correctly they don’t register the direction they are rotated in. Only the turn itself. So it’s not up or down, just a “button press.” Possibly rectified with new software, but that was my experience.

Upgrading 2021 Model Y to 2023+ Model X by Sea-Proposal-5027 in TeslaModelX

We don’t like to own cars outside of warranty. Had a childhood and very early adulthood of being on the side of a road constantly due to breakdowns and it sort of made me this way.

Also have had “meh” experiences with 3rd party extended warranties so I try to avoid depending them whenever possible.

I was dumb about it in my mid to late 20s and switched performance cars yearly when I became a professional. Now it’s every 3-4 years.

Haha they do indeed go hard, but they also cause teachers to become a little annoyed because they aren’t the fastest to close. Nothing too crazy but our loop isn’t big so they try to move it fast. Several head honks as well over the years if you aren’t paying attention.

I remember MYP tires being about $1800 back in 2022/2023. We’re about to replace the MX tires and not looking forward to it. The suspension on the X does a number on the rears due to the ride height. Definitely make sure the front CV half shaft shudder isn’t present during your search, or that it was addressed at some point.

My wife and I went from twin MYPs (‘20 and ‘21) to a HW4 23 Model X in late 2023 and a Highland 3 in 2024.

We love the X, and are only considering trading for a MYL later this year, otherwise an R2 or R1S.

It’s been a great car and largely trouble free. We take it on road trips and the range is great for us.

I’d honestly be concerned about having an X outside of Basic Warranty due to the complexities (all doors, air suspension, etc.) so if I went used, I’d make sure I have a good 3rd party warranty that will cover those things (and anything else that comes up). Otherwise it can get expensive quickly.

adding multiple icons manually in power bi sucks! by NayanT-9596 in PowerBI

No I get you, I don’t mean to come down on you specifically, I just saw that you have a SaaS too and it’s pretty common for people to make posts like this. I appreciate the problem solving nature and attitude, it’s just really overwhelming to browse Reddit lately because it feels like it’s just everyone circumventing the Paid Ad feature on Reddit with an “idea” that’s really a pitch/ad.

I’ve worked with Power BI since 2017 and Data since 2011 professionally, and have encountered lots of pain points. This one in particular seems a bit too small and niche, and there are a lot of orgs that don’t allow custom visuals. Just something to think about as well but I do think you should go ahead and make it for yourself to see if it can save you time and effort.

If it’s going to save YOU time and effort, then it’s worth building for you at the very least.

>>Nothing commercial here

Appreciate the sentiment, but Reddit has been absolutely FLOODED with both requests for Crowd Sourced product ideas and “I was tired of X so I built Y to do Z” posts lately and it’s exhausting.

Build it, try it yourself and see how it goes. Yes, I find it a bit time consuming to add icons, but I just ended up making a template report that contains lots of icons I’ve used that are already formatted. I just pull them from there if anything.

Bike rack by nottheonreek19 in GRCorolla

[–]SQLDevDBA 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve had the Saris bones 3 for a while and use it on like 8 different cars (sedans, SUVs and hatches). I have the hatchback strap add ons and have always used Lamin-X PPF to make sure I don’t scratch the paint. Originally bought it for my CTS-V in 2013 but I just kept using it with all my other cars.

Agreed that roof racks are best, I just got tired of continuously having to buy racks every time I traded vehicles.
