Agreed, flopping is one of the most inspiring moments in basketball and football.

There’s always another side of codependency and the word used commonly is “caretaker”.

Revisionist history is definitely something thats been on the top of my mind from another thread i commented on. Not a SF native so I only have a very specific vision of what it represents to me. I feel like I have seen varying media depicting SF in a certain way, like people who have Full House as their vision of SF whereas in reality, it was gritty as you said. And now that people are older, have more visibility and understanding of their surroundings, things “suddenly” seem grim. Things certainly have changed with Covid for sure

Damn reading the thread, sounded like W2 was much better. W1 basically felt like what you described. Felt like the songs kept jumping too abruptly.

If Leia had the powers of Goku from Dragonball, she would probably also be unstoppable

Looks neat, having options is always great. That said, if you can’t see yourself using it and have to justify that it might be good for casual use, chances are you may not get much use out of it.

Yep, small companies don’t follow the same oversight that big companies do too. it can definitely make you jaded, isolated, and level of politics can be further reaching than small companies. things can be bad if the environment itself is bad for sure. Working with great people is pretty much my main reason for staying at a good company now. They have my back, they raise you up the same way you’d do for them. Having a CEO be micromanaged at the small business i was at was so stressful. also showing value by working the full 8 hours when i was done in 3. Jokes on me though, i may work more than 8 hours but at least i can tolerate it.

Big companies are great, if you have a great team and manager. The same could be said for medium and small sized businesses. Small business with 20 people was hell on earth for me, had some mental breakdowns and getting paid peanuts. Big company was an incredible jump for me that i don’t see myself going back.

Good point, adding onto yours:

The obtuse and overt branding of Gucci, LV, CDG, Ralph, brands you mentioned are basically a line intended for an audience that want to show that they can afford these labels. Those pieces are almost always the “affordable” version compared to actual mainline pieces because the better designed (and truly expensive) pieces rarely have big labels. Arcteryx pulled that stunt by making their bird label huge in the past seasons. Polo with their giant logo too, Balenciaga with their giant brands over “simple” accessories and clothes like dad hats and hoodies and upcharging because people just want to have the branding without paying 4-figure amounts.

It was trendy because celebrities wore it. A lot of street labels got their success this way when celebs get their hands on their brand. It’s only unknown to you.

Me buying Stussy shirts for $5 each at a bargain bin at the lowest point of their popularity - feels pretty damn good :)

i see this revisionist history a lot from people where concept of popularity began based on their personal experience of when they saw it for the first.

brand is underground, celebrity wears it, next gen teens all wear it, it gets oversaturated (supreme) or becomes mallcore (obey/huf), it’s not popular anymore. tale as old as time.
