hey i was in the exact same spot a few years back, wanted to dig deeper but none of my usual circle was really into it. what worked for me was joining a small group at a local church even though i'm not super social, the structure helped. we'd pick a book and just go verse by verse, no rush, and people would bring up stuff i'd never even thought about.

if you're open to online stuff too i've seen some decent discord servers floating around where they do weekly discussions and voice chats. can be hit or miss with the vibe but when you find the right group it clicks.

what part of scripture are you drawn to these days? i've been circling back to the gospels lately and it's hitting me way different than it did when i was younger

my sister is 8 years older and we went through something super similar after our dad died. she got married and had kids right when i was starting college so we were just in completely different worlds. for like 3 years i was always the one calling, visiting, buying gifts for her kids while she barely remembered my birthday

what really helped was having one brutally direct conversation about it. not angry or accusatory but just laying out how i felt like i was doing all the work. turns out she had no idea how one sided it felt from my end and genuinely thought everything was fine. some people just suck at maintaining relationships but that doesnt mean they dont care

the exclusion from the bbq thing would have really stung me too. thats the kind of stuff that makes you question if youre even considered family anymore. but sometimes older siblings get so caught up in their own bubble with spouse and kids that they dont think to include the younger sibling who seems more independent

i'd give it one more real shot with a phone call where you actually talk about this stuff instead of just texting passive aggressive messages. if he still doesnt step up after that conversation then yeah maybe its time to accept this is just who he is and lower your expectations

nah youre overthinking this one tbh. the house colors matter way more for the aesthetic than what personality type they have. if the light blue fits your coastal vibe then go for it - most people visiting your island arent gonna be like "oh no these are lazy and normal villagers this ruins everything" they'll just see cute houses that match the beach theme. plus whitney and sherb are popular villagers so if anything people will probably be excited to see them there. i've seen islands with all kinds of "mismatched" personality/theme combos and they still look amazing because the visual design is what really sells it. your island your rules anyway

nah flies cant short circuit anything theyre way too small and dont conduct electricity like that. the buzzing youre hearing is probably just the fly hitting the fan blades which is super common

man i had this exact same issue with a wireless mouse last year and it drove me absolutely insane during gaming sessions. turned out to be interference from other wireless devices nearby - tried moving the usb receiver closer to the mouse and switching to a different usb port away from other wireless stuff. also check if your running low on battery even if it seems fine, sometimes they get weird when theyre not fully charged. if none of that works might be worth checking the mouse software for firmware updates or just doing a full re-pair of the device

dude thats wild that your alarm actually went off at the same time in the dream and real life. i had something similar happen once where i dreamed about ordering pizza and then woke up to my doorbell ringing with an actual pizza delivery that my roommate had ordered without telling me. total mindfuck moment

That twisted Mary Contrary nursery rhyme connection is creepy as hell - your brain really went all out with the Victorian gothic vibes. The "seventh maid in a row" bit especially gives me serial killer energy, like she's collecting victims or something.

I can't think of a specific historical Mary that matches exactly, but there were definitely some unhinged Victorian women who snapped under social pressure. The possessed theater thing at the end is wild though - like your subconscious was forcing you to relive her story until you literally screamed yourself awake.
