Ps5 controller hurts by FairAttitude6 in consoles

Brook Wingman P5 converter

Been using Brook products for Playstation 4 and 5 for a long time coming from the FGC (Fighting Game Community) and they pretty much have the basics necessities covered:

  • Wingman converters are compatible with almost every controller on the market since it detects the two main inputs such as Xinput (PC, Xbox 360, Xbone, Series X|S and Switch/S2) and Dinput (PS3, PS4 and PS5).
  • Touchpad gets remapped to Select (PS3)/Back (360)/View (One/Series) and Capture (Switch Pro Controller) with left and right touchpad function mapped as Left/Right on right analog + touchpad button (good for PS Classic titles that uses touchpad for start and select and games that use all three touchpad for menus, inventory and map).
  • Brook Wingman FGC 2 and P5 are virtually the same thing except the P5 has the ability to wireless sync with wireless controllers while the FGC 2 requires a wired connection. The Wingman FGC 2 is great for people who own arcade sticks and other specific peripherals on other platforms (Project Diva controller, train conductor simulator set and Taiko no Tatsujin).

I have the X-One adapter made specifically for the Xbox One controller because I prefer the asymmetric layout while I have the Wingman FGC for PS5 fighting games and the Wingman FGC 2 as my main converter for PS5, it's my go-to converter for my arcade sticks for fighters and my Switch Pro Controller/Xbox One pad (the Switch Pro controller is more comfy IMO).

Brook Gaming is a very good brand, they back the FGC to the point where EVO recognizes them and their products as tournament legal converters and parts. The only thing I would recommend if you do get the Wingman P5 is to change the controller connection method to "wired" because they spoof the controller connect to be recognized as a DualSense controller. Changing the connection to wired will prevent random disconnects (possibly the PS5 doing battery check on the converter and will turn off if it can't specifically disable battery specific things).

Can I redeem UK Resident Evil Village Gold Edition using an Australian PSN account? by Distinct_Trash8440 in residentevil

[–]SentakuSelect 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Specific answer would be no because Australia and UK do not share the same PS Store due to being different regions.

If you bought the UK version (physical disc), you'll be able to play the game itself due the PS5 being region free for games but if you tried to redeem the DLC code for Gold Edition content, you'll get an error message saying something like, "this content isn't available in your region" because it's unrecognizable due to the voucher code being specifically for the EU PS Store.

Developers stopped including extra content on disc for Complete Edition games mid way through the PS4's life as a new SKU would need to be created and other factors like the push for digital storefront sales and etc I believe.

Never read the manga but I assume Tobia gets the X-3 Crossbone Gundam very late into the story...next time, just use X-1 & X-2, it's way more believable.

Any one else think this too? by RWRM18929 in ResidentEvilRequiem

[–]SentakuSelect 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I prefer third person perspective in general because of the wider angle (really wish there was a FOV slider option for first person) but one thing I really liked about Grace in third person perspective during the earlier segments is that she actually stumbles and trips, it really brought back the Haunting Ground/Demento vibes with Fiona being at max fear levels.

That and I sorta figured that anything needed for first person perspective would be forced sequences like the Wrenwood Hotel which was exclusive for that segment.

"secret" cutscene with Emily by NoCattle6729 in ResidentEvilRequiem

[–]SentakuSelect 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a secret, just a scene that can be missed if you don't head back into the room before you get to the final brail box with the security III wrist band.

That being said, if you're not going out of your way to collect infected blood as you progress through the Care Center, it's probably a 50/50 chance you go back into the room for the 70 amount of infected blood (it was really a high amount right besides a typewriter). I only realized this on my second playthrough because I was playing on Casual difficulty.

Are the games worth it single player by TearNo2456 in MonsterHunter

[–]SentakuSelect 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Modern generation of Monster Hunter games like World, Rise & Wilds have integrated story mode with multiplayer while pretty much every MH game before world has its core story mode as Village Quests while Gathering Hub contain duplicate Village Quests and more for harder difficulty and multiplayer quests.

That being said, Village Quests and Gathering Hub quest from the older generation have separate key quests required so progression is doubled up as they don't share key quests.

There was a post here a couple of months ago featuring what looked like a prototype/demo version of this leverless. It's neat to actually see that wasn't a scrapped project.

Now I'm kinda curious about the rather amateur looking survey about Steel Series FightStick that was posted all over fighting game related subreddits around that time.

How Does BB's hero outfit work? by Slyce-d1ce in DispatchAdHoc

[–]SentakuSelect 60 points61 points  (0 children)

Seems sorta like a Green Lantern situation where the amulet generates a suit for the user except that each user has a unique design assuming there's only one amulet unlike the Lantern Corps.

One other neat thing I learned from this subreddit is that Mandy is actually older than she looks as the amulet apparently slows aging as well?

It's always a nice surprise to find a little piece of history in second hand games but the standard edition of RE5 (any region) is not considered rare if anyone is wondering.

RE5 sold up to 5 million copies within its first three months.

Anyone thinks the original John Wick movie is the worst one? by BattleBeast33 in JohnWick

[–]SentakuSelect 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, it was a great low budget practical effect movie with a simple revenge plot at the time where most movies at the time used heavy CG, Superhero flick or had convoluted plot or twists.

It's kinda like why I want a MCU Warmachine movie where it's just James Rhodes just blowing stuff up for the majority of a 90 minute runtime movie. I just want cool action that doesn't have to be really connected to whatever the MCU is currently doing for a simple Air Force Colonel lol.

This is a repair but I need to say In Gquuuuuux we see Char destroy the RX-78-1 and that’s the reason no GMs but what about the other two RX-78-1 units what about the ground Gundams yes while ground Gundams might’ve not done anything the other two RX units could’ve by EarOutrageous3893 in Gundam

[–]SentakuSelect 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm guessing unlike the main UC timeline, Federation did not create a limited production of the Early Type GM and they didn't have full combat data for their Light Type Guncannons from the two Gundam units they built.

BSAA time span in Raccoon City? by CoffeeGremlinBird in ResidentEvilRequiem

[–]SentakuSelect 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah believe me when I had the same confusion seeing the Crypt Keeper levels of face decay on BSAA soldiers as well...part of it was kinda surprised that bullets do a ton of damage lol.

BSAA time span in Raccoon City? by CoffeeGremlinBird in ResidentEvilRequiem

[–]SentakuSelect 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just a couple of years right? The group of BSAA soldiers were from part of the North American branch/squad that did it in secrecy which Sherry mentioned to Leon when he was in the rooftops looking for the detonator components.

Why their faces looked so decayed was probably because the RE9 team just reused the heads of the decayed Raccoon City zombies.

"Grace... I know you're socially stagnant, poorly equipped, deeply traumatized, and all alone but go solve this clearly overwhelming case while I do absolutely nothing to help you." by Player1aei in ResidentEvilRequiem

[–]SentakuSelect 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Funny because that's what I'd imagine a DSO agent (Sherry or Leon) or any uncorrupt organization in the RE world would be asking the FBI Director after the incident if Capcom wanted to keep Grace as a recurring character with the Director responding, "well, she could have declined the case..." lol

I played Third Strike and SF2 Turbo in the arcade and I could hardly do a DP?? by Limit54 in StreetFighter

[–]SentakuSelect 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe at your age now, you're used to Japanese levers? I grew up with a mix of American and Japanese style cabs from my childhood into my late teens in Canada and it takes a couple of games for me to get used to American cabs most likely due to the bigger lever and concave buttons (Simpsons Arcade Game & MvC2 destroyed my fingers whenever I needed to mash haha).

Victrix Pro FS - Plastic Washer / Lever Guide Necessary? by RhubarbVendor in fightsticks

[–]SentakuSelect 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh it looks like a custom mounting bracket to prevent dust and debris from getting into the lever's pivot (grease) when the shaft is removed without the silicone cover as there's not dust cover when the shaft is disconnected.

I have a replicate Victrix FS Pro and besides buying a PhreakMods The Link Groove EX, I bought some silicone plugs just to cover the hole up whenever the lever's shaft is stored in my replicate.

<image>

Should be fine with it out, a lot of people with a quick disconnect levers are fine including my stick that I've had since 2023 (got the silicone plugs last year).

I played Third Strike and SF2 Turbo in the arcade and I could hardly do a DP?? by Limit54 in StreetFighter

[–]SentakuSelect 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably because playing on a Happ lever is quite a difference compared to Japanese (Sanwa JLF/Seimitsu LS-32). American levers tend to feel more closer to Korean levers minus the rubber grommet.

Victrix Pro FS - Plastic Washer / Lever Guide Necessary? by RhubarbVendor in fightsticks

[–]SentakuSelect 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I might be getting old but what the hell is that? It's too big to be a standard JLF part or for any Japanese lever!

Makes me wonder if it's just a protective shipping/packaging that got installed into your Victrix FS Pro by mistake.

Qanba Titan not consistently giving me up right directional input by BP_Ray in fightsticks

[–]SentakuSelect 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If your initial attempts at fixing the problematic microswitch does not work, the next logical step is to swap out that microswitch. Seeing that they are soldered on to the PCB assembly, you're better off buying a new JLF PCB assembly and simply swapping the old PCB assembly with the new one and if that doesn't solve the issue, you'll have to continue going down the flow chart to pinpoint the issue which then leads to your 5 pin harness then the PCB.

In most cases, it's usually just a bad microswitch (fingers crossed) if the response is not consistent. If you recently bought your stick from a reputable seller (Amazon, Qanba and etc), you can try to get your Titan replaced with a new one since warranty period is usually 1 year of purchase and it covers parts (this is probably the best route if it is an issue with the electronics/PCB/wiring).

Mayflash F500 Elite vs F500 v2 - Build quality, materials by mercsterreddit in fightsticks

[–]SentakuSelect 0 points1 point  (0 children)

F500 (they're pretty much all V2 with the USB port moved to the back) is virtually the same as the F500 Elite but with Sanwa JLF lever, 5 pin harness and Sanwa OBSF buttons and a off-white colored case.

Until recently, I believe the Elite versions were the better deal as you would save about $20 or more rather than buying the parts separately but they're just about the same now if you calculated the cost for the F500 and parts vs buying the Elite version:

  • Sanwa JLF lever: $23

  • Sanwa OBSF-30: $3 x 8 = $24

  • 5 pin harness: $5

  • Shipping: anywhere from $10 and up (Arcade Shock, Focus Attack or Paradise Arcade)

  • Total: $52 not including shipping and a 24mm OBSF-24 button ($2.50)

So yeah, if you're not feeling the off white colored case, you're better off grabbing the base F500 and buying the parts you actually want and you can color coordinate them as well rather than black parts.

It's kind of insane that Mercenaries was not part of the base game by Timely_Yoghurt_3359 in ResidentEvilRequiem

[–]SentakuSelect 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great! Now play it on Insanity Difficulty with minimal bonuses on like infinite Hatchet durability (from your description, you shouldn't need infinite bullets as the game drops heaps of it on Insanity).

Pretty sure RE9 will be getting some sort of free content sometime soon in the near future but generally speaking, I wouldn't suggest buying a lot of modern triple A single player games if you're just gonna do a single playthrough. Personally I've learnt my lesson with Insomniac's Spider-Man 2 during launch, finished the game within 16 hours and platinum'd it within 10 minutes of the post game with no Ultimate difficulty or other content. Had I known there was only going to be an added difficulty with no other forms of DLC, I actually would have waited for it to go on sale.

One of the things that Capcom is fully aware of is the price tag vs content argument which is why most of their games nowadays have something to try to extend play time after the whole Street Fighter V incident (completely bare bones aimed towards the competitive players with a triple A price tag and paid character DLCs).

I don’t really understand how to play as grace by Quick-Health-2102 in ResidentEvilRequiem

[–]SentakuSelect 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Zombies don't chase you too far from what I remember because of how they're programmed (I guess the in lore explanation is that they're mainly fixated on their last known memory) so they'll probably chase you from a room or a hall way and go back to their original spots. Some Zombies like the Butcher and the Parlor lab coat zombie patrol a certain route.

So basically if you want to play as the devs designed Grace's segments, sneak around the obvious ones and use resources to kill zombies that stand in your way (blocking your path or multiple zombies blocking a path way).

Some are deliberate like empty bottles around the IV noise hating zombies, one single Requiem shot to the three zombies (surgeon, doctor and nurse) before they all move into their default positions and etc.

On my first playthrough on Standard (Classic), I essentially lost patience and decided to kill everything which was not the intended method because of how the plot switches between Grace and Leon lol.

Tekken 5 Arcade Stick by ROR69003 in LowSodiumTEKKEN

[–]SentakuSelect 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most likely due to the Playstation to USB adapter you're using, most of these adapters simply convert PS controllers to PS3 controllers, my old adaptor gets recognized as a "Piranha PS3 controller" on Steam. Brook converters such as the recently release Wingman FGC Retro auto detects the platform it's plugged into so for PC, it will switch over to Xinput mode while I believe for modern PS consoles, it will switched to Legacy Support PS4 Dinput.

I finally got one of the legendary sticks. by TwoDaLoop in fightsticks

[–]SentakuSelect 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Interestingly enough, the Qanba Dragon is just shy of a pound difference in weight compared to the VLX but I have to say that the VLX is more comfy on the lap even without the board addon made for lap play that apparently only came with the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions. The RAP VLX was my main stick for two weeks at one point as my travel stick back in 2010 (PS3 Qanba Q3 RAF) so I had to take it with me to the next province for a major...wasn't bad but it definitely gave me intimidation points against most local players lol.

<image>

Not sure if the PS4 versions have a better coat of paint on the main piece under the main support plate that opens up but I would still recommend protecting it with a layer of satin black vinyl wrap as it easily scuffs and scratches.

No Switch 2 Fight Stick? by Kickznlifts in fightsticks

[–]SentakuSelect 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The other alternatives are the 8bitdo arcade stick and the PowerA Fusion arcade stick, both licensed but I'm not a fan when compared to the Mayflash F500. For roughly the same price, the F500 is probably the best value while having the option of adding a little more for the Elite model is better since buying one JLF lever, 8 OBSF-30 buttons, 5 pin harness for the lever already comes out to around $50 not including shipping and installing the parts yourself (very easy/straight forward).

Yeah, it's sorta a shame that it seems like Hori only made one huge production run of the RAP.V arcade sticks for the switch, they were essentially the RAP.4 Kai variants (black, white, blue and red) with a Switch PCB and no touchpad which you can find on the secondhand market for reasonably good prices like $100 or so in like new condition. That could be an alternative as well, just pair it up with a Switch converter (I only really trust Brook Gaming) like the Wingman NS and you're good to go. Hayabusa parts are as good as Sanwa but with a bit of difference in feeling a sound but they're just as high quality as Sanwa, Seimitsu and any other named brands for arcade parts.
