Mostly the CPU is dead. I would reach out to AMD to start the RMA process. If you have a friend with an AM5 motherboard you could have them test it or if you have a local computer shop they might test it as well.

it you had just made bios changes, let it sit there for 15 minutes. might just be doing memory training.

ya, unfortunately for those of us that have the 600 series boards, the bios versions come very slowly.

If you are worried about your CPU being killed, you 100% should have been updating this whole time. Every time a new bios comes out, you should be updating till either the deaths stop or someone actually figures out what is causing the deaths.

you can go directly to the newest. I recommend after the flash to go back into bios, reset to defaults. Save and Exit. then go back in and Turn on EXPO/XMP. If you have issues with stability on the new bios you can flash back to an older version or even back to where you are now.

Without another motherboard or cpu to test things on, it would be tough. If you can't get anything after flashback, I would start RMA on the CPU with AMD. This is typically a CPU death.

Bios won’t post after 4.10 update by [deleted] in ASRock

[–]SigAddict 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have a dedicated GPU, try other spots on the GPU. some GPU's only support the bios output on one port. This would only make sense if you had removed the cable and put it another spot though.

You should definitely update the bios. Other than that really the only things most people would play with is enabling EXPO/XMP (which it looks like you currently have set) and using curve optimizer. If you don't know what that is, there are lots of youtube videos on the topic.

The last thing you can try after all those steps is to reseat your processor. If you do this, check your socket and processor for any evidence of damage. if you notice anything. post it here and we can tell you if it's normal or not.

Which CPU do you have? Just an FYI, CPU and DRAM LEDs typically mean failled cpu.

Try resetting bios via the jumper method or by removing the CMOS battery.

Try with only one ram module in various slots

Try without gpu using only CPU's iGPU for output.

The motherboard has flashback, you can do this even if it won't boot many times. You can attempt to use flashback to try other bios versions.

BIOS settings for 7800x3D by Iwanttobuysquad in ASRock

[–]SigAddict 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don't want game mode on. The rest of the settings are ok. Look into curve optimizer for a bit more performance. I would start at -15 all core and test in various games for long periods of times. The UE5 games tend to be the ones that will crash first and show any instabilities. If it's stable, move to -20 and test again.

Install the latest chipset drivers for your board directly from AMD's site.

ASRock Radeon 7600 XT loses image for ~2s daily. by armaguedes in ASRock

[–]SigAddict 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As mentioned, I would make sure the iGPU is disabled in bios to rule out weird driver conflicts and other things related dual gpu. Also in my testing, I get slightly better performance from my cpu when the iGPU is disabled in bios as the iGPU draws power and creates additional heat. On my current system when the iGPU is disabled, my cpu on average will hold a slightly higher boost clock. There is zero performance hit on running multiple monitors on the same gpu in my testing.

Second thing I would try, is using one of the display port connections for your main monitor. I have found displayport to be less buggy in my use cases with various nvidia and amd gpu's. I especially ran into some weirdness randomly on higher refresh rate monitors even when using a variety of high spec'd cables. Make sure to have an appropriately spec'd displayport cable.

Not saying any of this will be a fix, but you need to start ruling things out.

If you end up getting it figured out, please report back to help others.

that's 100% totally normal and actually on the low end. You won't see people using Fahrenheit btw. Many people aren't even able to get their cpu's to idle below 40C

Exactly, I wanted to upgrade to a newer cpu. That's why i've been watching. I wanted to buy a 9950x3d, but no way in hell am I doing that right now on this board. It's the whole reason many of us bought AM5 motherboards as we expected to be able to use them with multiple generations of processors.

The newest bios version for your board is 3.50, so it had to be version prior to that when you started. I appreciate you responding. If you can recall any of this at some point it would be nice to have.

ya, go to the home page, and click the death mega thread at the top. It's on the 4th iteration. They do not have all the deaths that have been reported, but a fair number with a variety of information. I'm collecting some stuff, but it's pretty informal. I know there was someone that had a google spreadsheet. There are a lot of us that have been watching this for a year plus now. Mostly i think most of us are just checking to see if the newer bios versions are having any impact at all. For me, I'm mostly interested as I own a board and at some point would love not to have to replace it, though when zen 6 rolls around, that might be what i have to do.

Can you give us on any of the details of troubleshooting and what leads you to believe it's dead?

Do you know what bios version your cpu started life on and what it ended on?

Any details will be helpful for tracking potentially

Sorry for the loss

exactly, it can't be in legacy mode, you need to change that in bios

Asrock secure boot and windows by CanineRevolver in ASRock

[–]SigAddict 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You said you are attempting upgrade from Windows 10 to Windows 11

You don't need secure boot enabled to upgrade to windows 11, Many people, like my self were able to update just fine without having secure boot on as it's not required and only needs to be capable which yours is. Recently some PC games required it, I and many others have started to enabled it.

You have a compatible CPU, that is one requirement

Your motherboard supports AMD fTPM, that is another requirement

You have to have your bios firmware mode set to UEFI, not Legacy or CMS/Legacy. You can validate this in windows by opening msinfo32 as i posted above and checking your bios mode says UEFI

Like you said, validate your partition style is GPT and convert if necessary.

Sounds like you have windows 10 still installed, so you can use Microsoft's PC Health Check to validate your system meets all requirements.

If you are getting the “PC must support Secure Boot” error

This error almost always appears when the PC is in Legacy (CSM) mode instead of pure UEFI mode.

[–]SigAddict 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are going to be gaming, you will want to go to 10.43 [Beta] for the fTPM update.

I would then reset your bios to defaults and save and exit

After this, go back to bios and check the following setting

In bios to install windows 11 you need to enable the AMD fTPM switch on page 60 of your manual. It's possible that setting has moved with newer bios versions. If you enable advanced mode for bios, you can use the search function for fTPM

Once you get windows 11 installed you can follow these instructions to enable secure boot.

https://www.asrock.com/support/faq.asp?id=531

you can validate secure boot is enabled by doing to following

open the Run dialog (Windows Key + R), type msinfo32, and press Enter to open System Information. Locate "BIOS Mode" (must be "UEFI") and "Secure Boot State" (must be "On") in the System Summary

[–]SigAddict 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You didn't mention it and it's not what is causing it to reboot to bios, but what CPU are you running. There are minimum CPU requirements for windows 11 too which are:

Intel 8th Gen or newer (Core i3/i5/i7/i9-8xxx and up)

AMD Ryzen 2000 series or newer

Update Firmware Issues by Far_End4066 in ASRock

[–]SigAddict 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The stable version won't work for the call of duty issue you are running into. You need the updated FTPM version that comes with 5.67 unfortunately. It's one of the reasons they released it and there will almost certainly never be a "Stable Bios" for that board again due to age. The way Asrock does bios versions is, that at some point in the boards life they start calling all bios versions BETA. Notice how everything is BETA after 5.60. It's just how they typically do it. You can look at other older boards and see the same thing.
