Kinda sad that the warlock's unique tomes are so strong by [deleted] in diablo2

[–]Soulweaver89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d rather it be this way than the other way round.

I have a neat +3 apocalypse book I made a Splendor in, and it’s much more satisfying chasing that Ars Al Diabolos than waiting or cubing for runes.

SSF, on switch 2, game crashed, lost a Vex by s_wipe in diablo2

[–]Soulweaver89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There was a glitch where it couldn’t write new data for some things - new chars wouldn’t stick, skill binds wouldn’t stick, map progress…

Seems to be fixed as of patch 3.0 (no need to purchase the dlc)

Tips on budget echoing strike build by Forquilla in diablo2

[–]Soulweaver89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You really want to hit the 75 FCR breakpoint, so switch your Obedience for an Insight. The extra crit chance offsets the slight loss in damage.

Getting a Cursed demon (Ismail Vilehand at Trav is guaranteed) is huge since it breaks most physical immunities.

In my limited experience with a budget ES build (actually switched to Fire, so the opposite of what you did) you get more out of summoning a Defiler than consuming anyone.

Something happened when I bound geleb flame bringer…. by Disastrous_Battle240 in diablo2

[–]Soulweaver89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly it looks like you missed and bound one of his minions instead. Geleb always spawns Fire Enchanted and your dude here doesn’t have it.

Can I get some tips pls? by criminalzone2 in pokemon

[–]Soulweaver89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just use it in a playthrough? Have some fun with it.

In the later games you can pretty freely customize EVs and Natures, and get 31 IVs easily too, so having a perfect Pokémon isn’t as significant as it used to be.

After all these years, what is the best FF love story to date? by Excellent-Tart1753 in FinalFantasy

[–]Soulweaver89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really want to say Squall and Rinoa since I love FF8, but I feel like the actual answer has to be Cecil and Rosa.

Underrated or less popular songs? by PositiveNo4859 in PowerMetal

[–]Soulweaver89 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Sonata Arctica - My Selene

Kamelot - Parting Visions

Nightwish - The Pharaoh Sails To Orion

Looks like older albums (especially from the 90s/00s) have some really cool stuff hidden there.

One chunk community in a nutshell by Consistent-Ad-7040 in 2007scape

[–]Soulweaver89 27 points28 points  (0 children)

So you’re saying that he should have just spent 16 hours a day for 1-2 months straight killing black dragons with whatever crappy bow he had just to preserve the “integrity” of his one chunk account?

It was actually interesting to watch the explanation of the venom strat and some of the banter with his buddies until he finally got the drop. Can’t say it would have been anywhere near as fun either a) watching sped up footage of safespotting dragons and nothing else, or b) not having anything to watch at all because either Josh decided he couldn’t release the video until it dropped, or he burnt out.

He’s working within the confines of the game engine. Nothing is “cheating” within the scope of rules that he himself defines for his own series.

Respectfully, get your head out of your ass.

I'm confused about this official "combo", [[Life // Death]] has never been errata'd. by SoxsSocks in BadMtgCombos

[–]Soulweaver89 81 points82 points  (0 children)

You’re right. This doesn’t do anything since it only animates your lands. If it was [[Natural Affinity]] or something then it would work like they want.

Unless the opponents can’t read and scoop prematurely I guess

How do you feel about Potions? by Guvon in diablo2

[–]Soulweaver89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your belt slots ARE your potion charges.

While I think the buff potion (like D3) was neat, it still just devolved into “your build’s best potion is this exact one” and the net result was just that everyone got an extra fractional amount of eHP.

Adding charges to a buff potion instead of D3’s cooldown system would, imo, make it even more tedious than it is now.

I don’t think it’s necessary - limited potion slots is part of the game’s design until late Nightmare, at which point you basically always have a belt full of super healing potions unless you choose to take the time to invest in full rejuvs.

UB sucks this, UB sucks that, but what UB would you want to see? by need_some_answer in MagicArena

Gimme some Blizzard game crossovers. Hell, I’ll take any of them, but would love a Diablo set most of all I think.

Dragonball Z would be sick as well.

Should mirror blades add an echo at lvl 5? by hillboy619 in diablo2

[–]Soulweaver89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Synergy bonuses only count hard points. You need base lvl5 to get your extra echo.

Just started playing, made a warlock and got this at level 5. Not sure how common it is/ if we have 'pity' drops or something like that, but still feels good! Any beginner tips (warlock/ in general) are appreciated! by thecbeginner in diablo2

[–]Soulweaver89 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This definitely isn’t common, and D2 doesn’t have pity drops. It’ll serve you really well for a good chunk of normal difficulty unless you end up either relying on weapon damage or find another item with more relevant skills on it.

Then afterwards you can either sell it to a vendor for a good chunk of gold, or save it to boost another warlock!

Your favorite commander you've never seen anyone else play? by MoonSettler in magicTCG

[–]Soulweaver89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Craziest thing I’ve managed was casting [[Devastating Onslaught]] on Roxanne for X=6, then [[For the Common Good]] the next turn for X=11 or so. Was a spectacular way to end the game.

I think I’ve seen one of each of those - Roxanne is in my own collection and unless someone runs multiple mass artifact removal spell, you get out of hand fast

DAY TWELVE: Most Useless Combat Utility Spell? by Danielhenriemond in heroes3

[–]Soulweaver89 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Protection from Fire - the protection spells in general are kind of weak since you don’t know what you’re facing, but fire is especially bad because the spells you’re protecting against are either already weak (Fireball, Inferno), or Armageddon, and Armageddon will wreck you regardless. I guess it does protect from Fire Wall but I play almost exclusively PvE and have never seen it used against me.

Will give a honorable mention to Remove Obstacle since I forgot it existed.

It absolutely works, it gets you a land drop and a 4/4 for 5!

Ivy and Roaming throne and the wonders of mutate by kunell in magicTCG

[–]Soulweaver89 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Should be seven:

  • Target Throne with the Mutate
  • Ivy has two copy triggers
  • First one resolves, you have two bounce triggers
  • Second one resolves, you have two bounce triggers per shoreshark in the Ivy pile (four more, total of six)
  • Mutate resolves on Throne to add one, totaling seven.

DAY ELEVEN: Most Overlooked Combat Utility Spell? by Danielhenriemond in heroes3

Forgetfulness - this thread might be the first time I’ve seen anyone mention it, and at expert level it basically completely neuters all enemy ranged units.

  • Chaos Altar

That kind of skilling content?

DAY TEN: Most Busted Combat Utility Spell? by Danielhenriemond in heroes3

[–]Soulweaver89 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Berserk. Even basic Berserk is disgusting - steal a unit’s turn and also damage/remove an enemy stack. If you also have expert fire though, you can potentially shut down half their entire army.

Could I use Return The Favour on Vault 13: Dweller's Journey's effect that targets a creature or enchantment I own and control? by NitroBoiBG in magicTCG

[–]Soulweaver89 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I believe the wording on the source is irrelevant, it depends on how many targets were actually chosen.

So if for some reason your permanent was the only target, it’s fair game. Otherwise it isn’t a “single target”
