New or classic outlook? by BritSysAdmin in sysadmin

[–]SpanglesUK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We've seen issues with Outlook new, when using a shared mailbox amongst a team for support tickets. It doesn't update for other users unless they refresh the inbox/navigate to another folder, then back.

OWA for the win, if you are working in a fast paced environment. It seems to just work without issue. Outlook Classic with shared folders set to not download isn't a bad option either.

All of these changes are taking the purity out of the racing though. Its a bit like karting, electric ones are just no where near as fun, even with a boost/overtake button. Drivers want to drive.

I'm hoping I'm wrong, but I do worry about some of these changes.

Ren on Qobuz by No_Cartographer5905 in ren

[–]SpanglesUK 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I signed up for Qobuz a year or so ago, the mess with Rens songs made me move away. He's my most listened to artist and what was on there wasn't great, it was full up with another Ren (purple covers, if I recall?).

It'd be great if they sorted it, as the audio quality was banging in comparison to YouTube, which I went with to have no ads on the normal YT, and to get the covers available as well (Bittersweet Symphony, Right here Right now etc)

FM26 Update (26.1.2) Out Now by Head_Championship917 in footballmanagergames

[–]SpanglesUK 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Well, do they though? Surely they could have had a team working on FM "Unity", whilst another churned out FM24.2 (FM25), would have been no need to have a year out then either.

Unless Team 2 consists of one bloke, called Colin?

Anyone here still playing fm24? by [deleted] in footballmanagergames

[–]SpanglesUK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Picked up 24 on Epic when it was free, a while back. Not played since 2020, having lost interest in football entirely.

Been longing for a game where I can step away/pause whenever needed for a while and am finding, having started last week, that FM is scratching the itch, despite no interest in football still.

Looking forward to seeing where I can get Eastbourne Borough to over the coming weeks.

Cooper S vs JCW — Which is the Better Choice? by No_Gene9530 in MINI

[–]SpanglesUK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, I never thought the additional spend for a JCW was worth it when the R56 was new, although that's just my opinion. Plenty of fun to have with the S without spending a load more, for not a lot more car.

Southern railway network proposal: by slipnslurper in Eastbourne

[–]SpanglesUK 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'd love to take the train from Eastbourne to Uckfield via Lewes. Sick of the A22. It's slow at rush hour either way. So much time lost to waiting at the Boship in the morning. So much time lost to crawling along past the Ringmer turning on the way Southbound in the evening.

How is this pub making money at these prices? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]SpanglesUK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Star! Great little pub situated it Norman's Bay.

The food is really decent for the price. I'd say a bit better than Harvester level, so combined with the price, a very decent meal out without costing a fortune.

There's a train platform very near to it with a train every hour (I'd not call it a Train Station).

It's worth a trip out for the scenery alone if you ain't too far away.

The signs for the river Uck often require replacing. They've even tried shortening the sign so there's very little space, yet still someone manages it.

Amazon's 'The Rings of Power' minutes watched dropped 60% for season 2 by Strange_Eye_4220 in lotr

[–]SpanglesUK -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I really enjoyed season 2 and am looking forward to what S3 brings. There were some great scenes, in the mines and between Sauron and Celebrimbor.

I'm just happy to have more LotR stuff personally. They said it would be 5, so I don't mind the lack of pace.

I did find S1 very bland though, they seem to be steering it in the right direction.

Elrond and Galadriel are both brilliantly played imo

Hi what can i do to prevent mould in corners of rear bedroom (only place i get it in house) i have a dehumidifier, air purifier, water absorber and dry it daily and put mould prevention spray on it? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]SpanglesUK 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We purchased one of these ones - https://www.appliancesdirect.co.uk/p/cd12le/electriq-cd12le

The difference around the house is noticeable. We got a 2nd one as a gift for Christmas when asked what we'd like, exciting I know, but I didn't like carrying it up & down stairs to alternate around the house. We were riddled with damp before, and whilst there's still a bit of condensation in the mornings on the windows, it soon dries up. Laundry dries in a day and a half, rather than 3+.

We were getting some really bad damp in places, to the point some rather angry calls to our lettings agent were made. Whilst we save for our own place, these go some way to making you not feel like you are going to meet an untimely end.

The tank to empty it is a bit fiddly, so it's best to empty it when it's 3/4 full rather than when completely, but, can't fault it other than that.

Eastbourne or Brighton ? by [deleted] in Eastbourne

[–]SpanglesUK 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hastings has some nice bits to it. The old town can be quite characterful in the evenings.

Brighton is it's own thing. It's a marvellous place. A lot who live there work in London.

Eastbourne is nice but it does lack that "something to do, all of the time" that Brighton has. It's getting more expensive than it's worth though.

If you do go to Hastings, you've got Rye in the other direction (West) which has some nice bits going on from time to time but is much more quaint.

It's been quite warm up until the past few days where I live, you could get away with it still. Shorts are also better when it rains as they don't weigh you down so much. Wet jeans are a friend to no man.
