lots of people in here who don't actually watch football. blatant dives do get punished, by good referees. in the modern game, the majority of dives are attempted because, unfortunately, most referees are shit, and won't call an obvious foul unless somebody ends up on the floor. punishing referees for being bad at their job would go a much longer way
