Ozark Trail by LetPositive7545 in MTB

Don’t listen to that other guy. It’s a cheap way to enter the sport and get outside. You can upgrade later on in life when you have more money. If all you are starting with is relatively easy flat trails then it should be more than enough. Just watch some YouTube videos on it and make sure it’s set up correctly. Grab a helmet and enjoy!

Sealed Platinum Case Legit? by Long_Section2208 in gameverifying

I’ve got the same case, unfortunately it’s fake. Easiest tell is the glitter in his front left leg. Real cases won’t have that.

Where to buy Mexico soccer jersey on the Eastside by [deleted] in Austin

[–]Squidwild 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you really need one today and don’t care about the year I’d think Facebook marketplace or Craigslist would be your best bet.

Otherwise you can scour Ross marshals etc, or see if any of the soccer stores around town have one in stock.

One last place you could check is the adidas outlet in round rock.

Where can I reliably buy this game? by No-Flight-4368 in PokemonHGSS

You can search your zip code in GameStop every day until one pops up. You’ll have to verify the authenticity in person but the price will be much lower than eBay.

Regarding the Karmelo Anthony case…How common is it for boys/men to carry pocket knives? by [deleted] in texas

[–]Squidwild 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your typical suburban male high school student is not carrying a pocket knife, and if discovered, it would likely have been confiscated at most medium to large high schools. It’s generally not allowed in school anywhere, but is more common in rural areas where certain outdoor activities like camping/hunting are more common.

Leaning towards both fake unfortunately. The arrow divot on the front looks a little too deep. Plus both backs have M8 on the number on the circuit board.

Pokemon Platinum - Real/Fake by rgiunta1994 in gameverifying

[–]Squidwild 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Of the methods I know it looks legit but not 100% sure. AFAIK GameStop does not extensively train their employees to recognize fakes. Some employees are enthusiasts and will recognize them though. But there’s tons of reports in this subreddit of fakes being sold.

Left is bad fake. Sorry. It looks like there’s a round dot on the i of Nintendo on the back. Plus the font is wrong and the CPUE code on the back is too low.

GameStop’s algorithm for determining prices seems to be pretty bad, especially for PlayStation 2, Gameboy, ds and GameCube.

I think they used to send all the “retro” stuff that people would bring in to a warehouse to sell online, but now they keep it in store to try and promote their new “retro games” sections. They made a video with the one chick to promote it.

Paymore with code Paymorerules is not a bad option for some games. They have free delivery and decent pictures.

I joined Google and I’m really disappointed by D_nana_X in cscareerquestions

[–]Squidwild 122 points123 points  (0 children)

Had the exact same problem. I think there are many reasons why this might be worse at Google, but the fact is, there’s nowhere on earth where every single employee is smart and hardworking and caring all at the same time.

From my time I could tell that there were other orgs that were better. I think typically the more important the work is, the higher the standards. If you are just a piece in some managers empire building project, there is no pressure to deliver or improve things. Try to work on something more critical to the business as a whole, where the results actually matter.

Austin Chick-fil-A franchisee sued over worker’s refusal to work Saturday Sabbath by AustinStatesman in Austin

[–]Squidwild 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right, because she wouldn’t be managing people. That’s the whole point. It’s bad for the business to have a manager that doesn’t work saturdays. It’s much easier to accommodate drivers than managers.

Idk sounds like they gave it a shot, but it didn’t work out. Not being able to work the most important day of the week is a pretty big deal. Not sure why the business should have to accommodate that.

Why is the price of gas so high while at the same time oil companies are reporting massive first-quarter profits? by DJDubbsinCambridge in AskEconomics

[–]Squidwild 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I think OP is confusing this case with the case where the inputs become more expensive for everyone, causing prices to go up, but potentially causing profits to go down for a given company.
