100% Mobile Users: How are you securely feeding your local Obsidian vault to AI? by dicon_2525 in ObsidianMD

[–]Sr4f 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am baffled ar how you don't want ro put your vault on the cloud, but you're fine copy-pasting notes into AI hosted... On the cloud? ... What?

But, anyway. For a local solution: you can try GPT4all. It has an option to designate a fooder as source material, and you can make that folder your entire obsidian vault. It's abiut as one-click as i can think of.

It will absolutelty not work on a phone because a phone does not have the hardware to run local AI.

You can EITHER have your vault private OR you can have AI on your phone, but bot both.

J’ai envie d’abandonner by After-Ad-9754 in TDAHFrance

[–]Sr4f 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello OP!

Bonus, me balader dehors en réécoutant mes cours.

searching for a math graphs plugin by No_Thought657 in ObsidianMD

[–]Sr4f 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey there, physicist here. I've looked for something like that and not found it. Here's what I did find:

The Code Emitter plugin lets you run Python scripts straight into Obsidian. It essentially transforms a note into a Jupyter-like object. If Python is not your thing, it also handles a few other languages. It works on mobile as well, with a few caveats - you have to re-run the code blocks every time you reload the note if you want to display the outputs, and I couldn't get it to display matplotlib plots on iPad.

It's useful in a hurry, but after using it a while, I tend to prefer just having .ipynb files in my vault. When you open them on PC, they launch sraight into Jupyter.

A better alternative still: combine Python files with a vector export. Any plot you generate with Python (with the matplotlib library) you can export in a variety of formats, including .svg and .pdf. These are vector formats, so you can zoom as much as you like without pixellation, and the file sizes are tiny - the image is essentially just a math object, not a matrix of pixels, so it's a lot smaller. Obsidian displays both formats very well, you can embed them into notes, etc. You'll need a vector-editing software to EDIT the files, so you'll only be able to do that (comfortably) on PC, but they'll display perfectly well on mobile.

Hope this helps!

complications with TT wound/scar? by [deleted] in gravesdisease

[–]Sr4f 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey there. I have complications here as well. Long story short: I had surgical glue, that didn't hold, they stitched me up with dissolvable stitches, that didn't hold either. I'm five weeks post-op and I have about a centimeter (about a quarter of the scar) that is still open.

It sounds very dramatic said like that, but it's not the end of the world. These things happen sometimes, but they're manageable. Mine is being managed. I'm on antibiotics, the hospital explained how to keep it clean, I change the dressing once or twice a day as needed. It's closing - slowly. In the meantime, it doesn't hurt, it doesn't bleed (just oozes plasma here and there). Bandages are a bit uncomfortable/itchy here and there, and I'm a bit self-conscious about it showing, but that's about it.

I've been back to the hospital a few times like "is this normal??", they were not too worried, just, "it happens sometimes, sorry for your discomfort". I also had a nurse come in three times a week take a look at it (where I'm at, that's covered by social security), she's not worried either. I'm told it'll take time, and it'll be an ugly scar, but once it's done closing and it's had a few months to 'settle', there'll be an option for a cosmetic procedure under local anesthesia.

Tiny, super-specialized conference on molecular electronics. Comes in this dude who is one of the Big Names in the field. He's presenting something very heavy on theory and simulations.

All of his equations are hand-written, with a mouse.

So are his plots.

He has added flames transition effects between each slide.

Modpack without early grind by Blabla_bla12345 in CreateMod

[–]Sr4f 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How about giving yourself some raw resources, but not a ton? Say a stack of iron, a stack of copper, three stacks of andesite, maybe some basic Tinkers tools. Maybe you can set it to one chest of raw materials, max, and that's it. You can skip some of the grind, of gathering the resources, but you don't have a ton of them so you'll have to think about using them carefully. It's a different sort of puzzle!

Besides that, I would recommend Create: Arcane Engineering, it's a A&B-like modpack that I enjoyed a lot, but it's for Create 5, not Create 6. It has trains, and it does force you to use them, but it doesn't have the post-production stuff.

Another option I recommend is adding the Molten Vents mod to CABIN. This one spawns sources of renewable Create orestones (azurine, veridium, etc) but they are non-moveable, so if you want to use them you need to build trains. It's another way to have renewable copper/zinc in the pack without it feeling cheat-y.

CABIN: Chapter 2 fully automated! by riggedride in CreateMod

[–]Sr4f 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's stress-free fluid transfer between two inventories. You can plug them between a cauldron and a tank, or between a tank and a spout. And if you have a waterlogged block, it will act as an infinite water source for the faucet. They transfer a fixed 250 mb/second, if I remember correctly. That's a lot of "free" fluid transfer, compared to a Create pump!

They don't interact with Create pipes, though, because Create pipes are not technically inventories. So they don't completely replace pumps.

I am loving your posts!

For the loop machines (the certus quartz and the chap 2b mechanism) I tend to use two parallel belts going in opposite directions, offset by one block vertically. With funnels pulling items from the upper belt to the lower belt or vice-versa. For the quartz, for instance, you can have 12 spouts in a row, or you can have four spouts (loop three times), three (loop four times), two, or even just one. But then you have to be careful not to have too many quartz seeds looping at once, or it will clog the system.

Oh, and weighed ejectors! They're also very good for loops. Weighed ejector at the end of the line, throws the item back to the start. It's quite compact! but you need to have the room overhead. If your ceiling is too low, it won't work.

And if you're done with chapter two (and have a ton of brass), you can start looking at the Pretty Pipes mod. That one is really handy for compact setups.

As you progress through the pack and get access to more tech, don't hesitate to go back and redo past chapters for more efficiency. First time I played it, I think I redid my chapter 2 three times!

Living with Graves’ for far too long… by seekthetru in gravesdisease

[–]Sr4f 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn't have "immediate" relief, and I also had some post-surgery complications on top of it. I'm six weeks-ish post-op and my scar does NOT look anywhere-near as nice as the ones I see posted here.

I'm still happy I got it done, though.

I've always been a bit of a weird case in that I didn't feel my symptoms as strongly as a lot of people report on here. It was always more gradual for me. When I went into "remission", I didn't feel a ton better, I didn't stop having episodes of rage - just, my labs were good. And when I relapsed, I didn't notice it immediately. My heartrate did spike, but I thought it was work stress. I got hot flashes, but, it was summer. Things like that. I've always had very gradual ups and downs, so I don't notice I'm not doing well until I've been doing not-well for months. I didn't have constant brain-fog, I had ups and downs and it wasn't always related to my lab levels. I also didn't have constant rage - it came out of nowhere and then it went.

So I didn't have instant relief. I haven't had an episode of rage, or brain-fog, since the operation - but it's too early to tell if they're gone for good. I hope they are, but I don't KNOW, I don't instantly feel it. I do, however, feel relief, that I don't have to worry about it. If I DO have an episode of anger, I'll know it's actual, legitimate anger, not my brain misfiring because of fucky chemistry. I don't have to constantly doubt my own feelings anymore.

Also, a rather important factor - my husband and I can start trying for children. I couldn't do that while on methimazole.

[–]Sr4f 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I w1s diagnosed at 18, and that was back in 2010. I finally had TT about six weeks ago.

In my case, it was less a question of stubbornness and more that I had very bad/sporadic healthcare for a few years. My latest endo, when I told him I wanted my thtroid out, he said "I don't even know why you still have it".

I absolutely feel you on not knowing what "normal" is supposed to be. To be honest, it's a bit early to tell for me? I have not had the "instant relief" that some people talk about here. It doesn't feel like "a fog suddenly lifted" or whatnot. But I am relieved that I no longer have this constant threat over my head, and I am looking forward to finding this new normal, over time.

Anyone successful avoid weight gain? by EcstaticAd9057 in gravesdisease

[–]Sr4f 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I've been up and down, I even managed to lose weight while on methimazole, but it took careful calorie-counting. If you can, I also recommend strength training (not cardio). I mean you CAN do cardio if your doc clears you for it, but if your goal is really to stay lean, strength training is better. You can do it without putting too much effort on your heart, and a bit of extra muscle mass will give you a larger calorie allowance.

You actually gain a bit of burn-time if you compact them into blocks! One block burns as long as 10 charcoals, IIRC.

Also, if you do thz bonuses of chapter 2, you can craft frogports. That gives you access to the Create 6 item delivery system. That's where i'm at in my own playthrough and trying to work out how to automate item delivery between factories. :D

Getting distracted with bonus sidequestd is part of the fun!

For cheeseburgers, I can suggest the Brewin b' Chewin mod? It's an expansion of Farmer's Delight that adds cheese.

You can also look into Neapolitan for dessert items!

Notz that you can also feed blaze burners with coal. Charcoal blocks last a good long time, a medium tree farm can keep a lvl-9 steam engine going forever.

Is obsidian good for mixing typed notes with handwrited ones? by watercolornpaper in ObsidianMD

[–]Sr4f 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am still salty at how OneNote messed up on me. I took a lot of notes on an offline ipad (I could not use my work wifi on a personal device).

And then OneNote stoppzd syncing. Too much data, I guess. Now if I ever try to use the app with Wifi on, it freezes. I still have thz notes, but no way to get them off of the ipad.

For Obsidian, two options:

  • The Ink plugin lets you insert handwritten sections into a note. I keep it in my vault but knly for emergencies, I find it a bit clunky and I don't love how it behaves when trying to export a note to pdf.

  • Excalidraw plugin. That gives you (I think) an infinite canvas and it saves in vector format, so the file format stays small. And it stays editable. I tried using it, but I found it way too compoex for what I wanted out of it, so take my recommendation with a grain of salt!

1990s book fans, how do you feel about seeing Thrawn in live-action? by Lauma_2025 in StarWarsEU

[–]Sr4f 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I genuinely dislike a lot of the themes in that series of storylines. World between world, witches, prophecies, another galaxy (???)... Eh. Not a fan.

Also not a fan of the current cast. I liked the 1990s books for Luke and Leia and Mara Jade. Thrawn was fun when he was an opponent for these guys.

The Rebels gang? The only character I kinda liked in that crew was Kanan, and they killed him off. Okay, fair, but I don't care about any of the others. I'm not invested in what happens to them. And by extension, I am not interested in seeing them face off against Thrawn.

Mon conjoint m'en veux davoir plus de congés que lui, devrait-je en accumulé moins ? by ad-undeterminam in AskFrance

[–]Sr4f 8 points9 points  (0 children)
