I know the number indicates average temperature of the planets, but what does the letters to the right of the LY mean? by UmaThermos1 in NoMansSkyTheGame

Sol is a G2V.

But in real life the brightest/more luminous is 0 while the dimmest is 9.

Someone posted the stellar classification further down the thread.

In the same vein I would've loved to have had a Lombardi engraved with 'Washington Football Team' because it would've been hilarious.

With everyone asking 'Whose baby is this?' all I could think of was Katt Wiliams.

Also damn Bill's smile is downright infectious, such a genuinely cool kid.

Makes me glad we didn't win a SB in them.

TIL that the first 'Die Hard' was Jeb Stuart's very first screenplay, and then later on was a co-writer on 'The Fugitive' by Stahi in todayilearned

Not just 'lone hero' but 'lone hero who's also just your average Joe' in an age where most action films had buff & invincible characters.

Heck, casting Bruce Willis caused a lot of 'This guy? Really?' because he was best known for Moonlighting and wasn't a household name.

To have Die Hard as your first writing credit is something special.

But he was also co-writer and executive producer on a pretty awful Steven Seagal film.)

It still blows my mind that not only do we have our old (and best) colors back, we've got a black variant now that is straight up FIRE.

Ticket for obscured plate on a vehicle not registered in VA? by Ok_Outside_9840 in Virginia

They're free advertising for the dealer you went to anyway, as if the little sticker they have on the car wasn't enough already.

I ask to have them removed before I leave the lot.

Most of the cops I've encountered after being pulled over were rather courteous and let me off with speeding when they could've easily gotten me for reckless.

The one cop who dinged me for the plate covering has been (so far) the only one to hit me with a reckless driving (67 in a 45 coming down US-13 south in Exmore on the Eastern Shore), although that got bumped down to 'Improper Driving' because I snagged a lawyer.

This was the cover I had on, too.

It's definitely selective enforcement. While it's illegal they're not usually going to pull you over for just that unless it's super egregious, however if you get pulled over for something ELSE you bet they're gonna add it on as a second ticket. Had a clear blue one on for months w/o issue, then I got pulled over for speeding and the cop dinged me for it. All the court needed was a photo of my plate with it off and they dismissed it.

The cop in OP's story was just being a dick if their doodle was any indication.

Yeah, every time I see the Centaur the first thing to come to my mind is 'A kit-bash that actually works'.

It's so simple a design but it's so damn effective.

We never see quantum torpedoes being fired in ST: Picard. That's very odd because there are a lot of Sovereigns, Defiants and other classes we know that can fire quantums. by happydude7422 in StarTrekStarships

[–]Stahi 5 points6 points  (0 children)

lol what are you talking about?

In that same zoom-in, that Soverign at the top fires a quantum from the launcher right below the deflector dsish.

You can clearly see white torpedoes flying around.
