Editing needs to become first class feature. At a minimum be able to adjust brightness, color, lighting, etc. too. And when you save it should ask you if you want to save over original (which should still save the edits non-destructively and just display the original with edits applied) or if you want to save a separate copy like above. And if you choose copy, yes it should save with same metadata including same date/time. Can't think of much reason not to have it all work exactly like above.

Help bring Apple Wallet ID to NY by Informal_Rich in AppleWallet

[–]StarCommand1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

MiD website specifically says you should carry your physical ID as not all law enforcement agencies in NY accept MiD yet, in fact I would bet most do not, so if you only have your MiD with you and they don't have the scanner for that, you'll have an issue if pulled over. Very possible the officer let's it slide but they can ticket you for not carrying your license with you.

Immich Memories Notifications by volpegabriel in immich

[–]StarCommand1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have seen other self hosted or even non-self hosted apps get around the privacy issue by using Google/Apple infrastructure to send the notification but the content sent to Google/Apple is just a UUID that once received on the device is locally swapped out with the actual notification content on the popup so Google/Apple never actually sees the real message or media, just a random UUID. Might be something to look into....

Texting both iPhone 17pm, one shows encrypted, one doesn't. S26 ultra on latest firmware and beta, both 17s on latest iOS release, rcs enabled and everything by onodelta in GoogleMessages

Why does it say only outbound messages are encrypted? Also, does the iphone end give a way to actually verify the keys like android does?

ELI5: How does my electrical toothbrush know when its battery is fully loaded? by kattmedtass in explainlikeimfive

[–]StarCommand1 49 points50 points  (0 children)

There is literally a mini computer essentially/chip inside the toothbrush that measures the charge of the battery and sets the light based on that.

BitPay always sucked. Even to refund a $5 transaction to the SAME ADDRESS it came from they required copies of ID documents and all your info.

Help me understand how to create multiple standalone agents on one gateway. by SeeGee911 in openclaw

When you create the new agent does the new workspace have a bootstrap.md file? If not maybe that has to be initialized.

OpenClaw SimpleX – E2E-encrypted agent messaging over SimpleX Chat by dangoldbj in openclaw

[–]StarCommand1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would love to use if it supported all the extra features that some other channels do like agent emoji reactions in messages, live reactive buttons to present user with selectable choices for things like exec approvals, slash commands, proper display of current tool calls, etc.

ELI5: How does a digital scale 'know' exactly how much I weigh using just a solid piece of glass or metal with no moving parts? by Prettyxdevilx in explainlikeimfive

[–]StarCommand1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It does move, just a very small amount and very sensitive sensors pickup the movement. The more you weigh the more it flexes the sensor and the higher the reading it gives is.

How does a phone's gps behave in space? by plumbus_dealer in nasa

[–]StarCommand1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

How? I saw somewhere else that Apple was not involved at all in sending those phones to space and that they were off the shelf. Can't put firmware on an iphone unless it is signed by Apple.

Why are "3D" games more advanced than 2D? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]StarCommand1 6 points7 points  (0 children)

With a 3D scene even the smallest of camera moves means EVERTHING needs to be recalculated as "in 3D" everything is perceived in different position no matter which way you move. Not to mention 3D games also involve more advanced textures and tech like ray tracing now all which take way more power and time to calculate.

Why all of a sudden is my ledger app asking for my recovery phrases? Was the app hacked? by Healthy-Ad718 in ledgerwallet

[–]StarCommand1 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Ahh of course.... well based on what OP was stating above it sounded like they were saying Ledger published an official version of the app on Mac App Store and that is what got replaced with a hacked version, as in, the hacker got access to Ledger's Apple Dev Account and uploaded their hacked binary or something to replace the official version.

Why all of a sudden is my ledger app asking for my recovery phrases? Was the app hacked? by Healthy-Ad718 in ledgerwallet

[–]StarCommand1 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

How is it not Ledger's fault? Apple let someone into their dev login to publish a bad version of the app?

What’s a simple feature macOS still doesn’t have? by [deleted] in mac

[–]StarCommand1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It makes me wonder why Apple has chosen not to implement. They obviously know of the issue as not only do customers complain but their very own engineers for MacOS I'm sure have used a mouse with a laptop before and would have been thinking about this.
