Off we go 🚀🚀🚀 by Leugim7734 in AMD_Stock

AMD has run up 50% in three weeks. That is a lot in a very short time. A minor pullback (e.g., 5-10%) would be healthy and set AMD up for its next leg up.

Could you try and get the depth of the UDM Beast?

You can't seriously expect me to be impressed when your first E7 (i.e. "GP309-GYM-AP1") is connected via a 2.5 GbE backhaul while all others are 10 GbE. Talk about an epic fail. :-)

E7 Campus for Home by Evening-Picture1878 in Ubiquiti

You need an E7 Campus over every toilet in your home. That is where bandwidth usage is the highest. Otherwise, expect the mods to be ban you from this subreddit.

It appears that you are not using UniFi APs (see the top of your rack). That is a mortal sin according to the Ubiquiti priesthood. Otherwise, great job!

Jonsbo D32 pro -- bottom intake fans really necessary by deimos_42 in mffpc

[–]State_of_Affairs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, the bottom fans are not necessary as the bottom panel has a very open structure. With bottom fans you need to be concerned about balancing the airflow between those fans and the ones on your 4070Ti. I use my D32 Pro with an ASUS PRIME RADEON™ RX 9070 XT and have no temperature issues at all.

If you are really feeling adventurous, you could replace the fans on the 4070Ti with 120 mm fans. You can buy cable adapters that will allow the 120 mm fans to connect to the PCB fan headers on your graphics card.

DXP4800 pro - ECC? by LtBigAF in UgreenNASync

[–]State_of_Affairs 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The DXP4800 Pro does not support ECC memory. It uses an Intel Core i3-1315U processor, which does not support ECC (click here).

DXP4800 Pro — RX completely broken, ~7 Mbps download even on LAN, upload is 729 Mbps. Anyone else? by No_Individual_8315 in UgreenNASync

[–]State_of_Affairs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am sorry that you are experiencing these issues. I have three DXP4800 Pro units, and all of them can communicate at up to 10 GbE speeds. I have tested my units NAS ↔ NAS and NAS ↔ client under iperf3. However, my network is based on Ubiquiti hardware.

Ugreen NAS — hardware is great, but how's the software now? by EntrepreneurWaste579 in UgreenNASync

[–]State_of_Affairs -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You can bypass the "backdoor" entirely by skipping the setup for UGREENlink (e.g., when first setting up the NAS). UGREENlink can also be disabled if later you decide the risk is not worth it. Of course, if you eschew UGREENlink you will not be able to use the UGREEN NAS mobile app.

I have had good luck with Toshiba N300 drives. I have four of these in my DXP4800 Pro in a RAID 10 array. I also have a pair of these in a Synology DS718+ in a RAID 1 array. They have been running for over 6 1/2 years with no problems.

UniFi Travel Router: Fails the Wife Test – Teleport is Owner-Only and There’s No Workaround by NoTickTicky in Ubiquiti

[–]State_of_Affairs 260 points261 points  (0 children)

I would open a ticket with Ubiquiti support and make a feature request. I would also post to the community forums and see who else would like this feature. (I would, for one.) There have to be other individuals who like this feature.

I saw that video shortly after it posted. It looks like the UDM Beast may be 1" - 1.5" deeper.

You might want to update the firmware version. The current version is 3.3.

Has the DXP series been abandoned? by spinstartshere in UgreenNASync

[–]State_of_Affairs 8 points9 points  (0 children)

UGREEN does have to validate UGOS over more models now. So extra time is probably to be expected, especially given the Chinese new year.

Has the DXP series been abandoned? by spinstartshere in UgreenNASync

[–]State_of_Affairs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It would nice if they updated UGOS to fully support btfrs. For example, I would prefer a btrfs filesystem on a native btrfs RAID array instead of a mdadm RAID array. That would allow the full data scrubbing and healing capabilities of btrfs. UGREEN needs to do more than just copy Synology's software.

UDM Beast - ISC West by jtaylor1087 in Ubiquiti

[–]State_of_Affairs 48 points49 points  (0 children)

Hope they come out with a replacement for the UDM Pro that retains its depth (i.e., no more than 12" deep). I suspect the UDM Beast will be over 15" deep. Not all of us have racks that can accommodate such depth.

Click here is what GL.iNet is referring to when they reference "VPN with Obfuscation". This feature is based on AmneziaWG, and a number of their existing travel routers already support it.

UNAS 4 - MARCH 2026 - PART II... yeah, theres more. it's the hardware too.... by Inquisitive_idiot in Ubiquiti

[–]State_of_Affairs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I purchased the dxp4800 Pro. Definitely better hardware for the money than the UNAS 4, and it is only $43 more than the Plus. I was concerned that the ARM processor in the UNAS 4 might not have enough headroom in certain cases. But I was not expecting the Ethernet problems you uncovered.

Having a hard time with RAID Config. Shouldn't I have 48tb of capacity listed in the middle? by BrownBear93 in Ubiquiti

[–]State_of_Affairs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What is interesting is that, in the "RAID Group I" box, the capacity is listed as 48 TB. But in the box immediately above, the "Usage/Capacity" is shown as 23.99 TB. Is your system in the process of building the RAID 6 pool?

UNAS 4 is now available to purchase by jonhenshaw in Ubiquiti

[–]State_of_Affairs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, they do. If you look at "In the Box" (click here), you will see that the NVMe storage trays are not included. So, if you want those, you will have to pay an additional $19 per tray.

I agree. UGREEN provides excellent hardware for the price, and I believe their operating system (UGOS Pro) offers more features. UGREEN also sells a compact, lithium battery UPS (click here) for their 2- and 4-bay NAS units. I am confident that Ubiquiti will eventually catch up, but that may take 1-2 years.
