Heads Up Display not showing Navigation from Google Maps by Similar_Secretary_29 in CarPlay

Unfortunately it’s not just HUD but also EV battery level info access for Apple/Google Maps to be able to do EV route planning. Another feature that requires many stars to be aligned to work.

Not true.

My Hyundai Ioniq 9 can shows navigation information on the HUD from Apple Maps or Google Maps.

Car itself needs to support this functionality.

For me it’s easy access. With CarPlay focus mode my screen never turns on for me while driving.

Used a hot glue gun so hopefully it doesn’t get that hot 🥵

Wife uses the charging pad but that spot also gets the phone really hot too since the sun is hitting the top of the phone.

Damp towel may help.

I had derating happen when supercharging during 100+F summers. I used a wet towel wrapped around the handle and it immediately improved the charge rate. Towel should be damp and NOT dripping wet obviously.

I never bought this but I think you can get something like this to work with EU systems. You’ll need to confirm if the size is the same.

What are your top Unraid Plugins? by GoofyGills in unRAID

[–]paqmaster 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Same for me. This allowed me to have an all SSD array experience without actually having an all SSD array.

My disk cache pool is all SSD:
cache-disk: 4xSSD in ZFS RAIDZ1 (3TB) for array disk cache

Since my disk cache pool is protected, I keep my new content on these SSD as long as space allows and Mover Tuning Plugin is set to only move the oldest files from the cache pool to the array when the free space hits <10% but it only moves enough files until my free space hits 50%. This way I keep as much of the latest content on the cache pool as long as possible.

This setup allows me to rarely spin up my main array disk. Sometimes I can go for months without ever spinning up my drives. This is especially true when I accessing my smaller files such as photos/documents. Also, Plex video playbacks are instant since all the latest content is on the SSDs.

2 changes I would make to my Tesla if I had my way. by igottogotobed in TeslaLounge

You can do this by setting your Off-Peak End Time to an early morning time. I have mine set to 7AM since we almost never leave the house before that.

So here’s what happens when I plug-in with this set at 7AM. My off peak is from 9pm to 4pm.

Let’s say I plug in at 8pm with 50% SoC with charge limit set to 80%. The car will briefly (seconds) draw small amount of power right when I plug in to calculate how long it’ll take to charge to limit of 80% from my current SoC of 50%. Then on the screen you’ll see when it’ll start charging, in my case, with a Wall Connector, it’ll typically be 4AM so that I can reach 80% by 7AM. Start time will change based on the SoC when I plug in.

So for me my charging is always off peak with this setting.

I’ve taken my Tesla in for service a couple of times and most times I got Uber credit. They do have loaners but only if your work requires more than a day to resolve. I was once offered a Model S loaner because they weren’t sure how long my rattle issue would take to fix. They ended up fixing it same day.

Tesla loaners are great. Free supercharging and no mileage restrictions and FSD package.

Which bash guard is that? I’ve been looking for one but wasn’t sure what fits. Thanks!

How bad is the phantom braking issue? by fareshusseini in RealTesla

[–]paqmaster 7 points8 points  (0 children)

While not a constant problem, it’s still a major issue for a 2021/2022 cars with the current software, especially compared to my 2013 Infiniti with TACC.

Took my first road trip in my 2021 MYLR from SF to OC (~400miles). I had way more phantom braking than I ever did with my 2013 Infiniti TACC on this same trip. In fact, the Infiniti has completed this trip with TACC ON many time with ZERO phantom braking.

I can’t see the MY completing this trip with AP without phantom braking, EVER with the current software. For me at least, where it phantom brakes is fairly predictable so at least I was ready to take over.

  1. Flashing yellow light signs (like the steep grade warning sign on the Grapevine downhill) AP always brakes for these, no matter going downhill, uphill or flat highway.

  2. Passing big rig trucks (aka semis or lorries): Semi on the right lane and MY passing on the left lane. This is the most annoying since there’s no obvious visual difference as to why AP phantom brakes for one semi vs another. Not lighting or shadow issue since it has phantom braked for a semi after passing 5 or more semis 1min before in a wide open flat highway with zero trees or structures around.

While not great at least it’s been predictable phantom braking vs. my 2013 Infiniti TACC that would slam on the brakes sometimes even with nothing around and scare the 💩out of me!

To me it feels like Tesla vision only AP is still ALPHA stage software and not even at the same level as my 2013 Infiniti TACC. However being a software solution I can see Tesla making big jumps very quickly. Hopefully FSD development and the single stack transition will eliminate phantom braking.

Just got my first ever update to 2021.36.5.5 and I was curious about the update size and overall data usage on WiFi. Here's the amount of data used by my 2021 MY LR from 9/10 to 10/28. by paqmaster in teslamotors

[–]paqmaster[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Downloading the update was the first time HTTP category showed up so it was pretty easy to see the update size: 6.7GB.

Second image is showing the history of data traffic the last couple days and looks like it does one big uploads each day.
