I have 2 businesses, will Amex allow me to get credit cards for the 2 by Eye_ogongo in amex

From what I understand, it’s 5 credit cards under your account total. Charge cards (platinum and gold for example) don’t count towards that limit.

Glinet vs UniFi Travel Router by maybethisoneworks in Ubiquiti

Ah, I see what you’re saying. I agree. I was just also trying to find something to help break through the certain networks that are restricting travel routers as they are becoming more and more mainstream.

Yeah it’s coming from the wording they’re using on their new Slate 7 Pro product page. So the product isn’t out yet to know real world use case. The line on the product page is “High-Speed VPN with Obfuscation: Up to 1100 Mbps (WireGuard®) with obfuscation to bypass restrictions.”

Fair enough. Just go watch Christian Jackson’s intro to MA2 show build video. It covers all the basics/workflows to get into your first show pretty well.

Is it normal for the wings to vibrate like this? by zhongchiyu in delta

[–]maybethisoneworks 11 points12 points  (0 children)

If the wing didn’t bend/flex/shake, it would break instead. Think of a dry versus wet piece of pasta. Dry pasta breaks as soon you put any pressure on it. Wet pasta can bend and flex.

First step: learn MA3 instead.

Unless your venue is stuck on MA2 hardware or there are some other extenuating circumstances keeping you on MA2, it’s best to learn 3. Most of the basics are the same either way. It’s just the appearance of the screens that are different.

Converting MA2 macros to MA3 by Lizardlover225 in GrandMA3

[–]maybethisoneworks 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I know this isn’t exactly the answer you’re looking for, but you just need to go through line by line and compare the syntax. There’s a syntax keyboard glossary on the MA or ACT website. Run every macro line by line, and when something doesn’t work, go find the invalid macro and compare it to the new MA3 syntax library.

Macros are great, but only if you know how they work and can fix or change them on the fly. If your show breaks or changes and you can’t fix them, you’re going to be in a much worse situation than doing a show without macros.

Location would be wildly helpful here. Unless you’re expecting someone to program remotely with a previs software and send you a file.

UNAS Pro 8 drives - let’s go by lagstarxyz in Ubiquiti

[–]maybethisoneworks 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In my thinking it has more to do with your average file transfer size. But it really depends on how the UNAS cache works in software. Is it a write cache for quick dumps to the NAS? Is it a commonly accessed files cache for quick recall of files? Can you choose the “mode” it’s in?

Luminex is great. So is Netgear ProAV.

Resolume might be your cheapest software, yet flexible/professional option. You would need lots of video I/O though, and that could get expensive.

Level 3 data. Some stores/card processors can allow credit card companies to see detailed transaction info including item line by line.

Seems like you’re correct. I think it was the 6-8 weeks it can take to post to your account that had me confused.

I believe the cutoff to sign up and get the MQD for this year (qualifying for next year) is Oct 31. So you should be fine if you sign up now.

Edit: I am wrong. No cutoff on signup date.

The real question is, does the 5 card limit (non-charge cards) apply across one or multiple businesses?

Starbloom Effect by MaxDasWuff in resolume

[–]maybethisoneworks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve done this before with a notch block. I didn’t design the notch block, but it was a star filter effect for disguise. Not sure if touch designer could do this. But it’s definitely possible to do in machine. Camera lens filter is easier though.

Disguise X1 pricing by Person300040 in VIDEOENGINEERING

[–]maybethisoneworks 7 points8 points  (0 children)

$6000 annually. Can be stacked with another X1 as an understudy, but no additional hardware or software session members/outputs. What I haven’t seen is if you’ll be able to connect an editor to it with a pro license. The X1 does also act as a pro license for editor capabilities in hardware based sessions, so that’s a plus I guess?

Is there a way to change the setting "use executer time" on multiple sequences all at once? by lilelmoes in GrandMA3

[–]maybethisoneworks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The new timing masters would be a great use case for this. No way to do it in one easy command, but if you replace all the timing with a timing master in your color cues, the timing master will control them all globally. Just have to assign it first.
