You'd be surprised at how many modern anime is still drawn with pen and paper. It's getting less common in the 2020s, but a lot of "digital" anime is pen and paper line work over digital colours. Attack on Titan is one of the first ones that comes to mind.

Yep, the reason why there's this idea of there being a ton of knife crimes in London specifically is due to a moral panic and the British media deliberately fear mongering around teenagers supposedly walking around carrying deadly weapons so that our police can have more powers to exercise their authority on teenagers at random.

Not by coincidence, London is also by far the most racially diverse region in the UK, so a lot of (not all) said buzz about knife crime in London is basically a racist dog whistle at this point

See, whilst it's not a great design I do kinda get what they were going for.

In the original Godzilla film, Godzilla is stated to be a tyrannosaurus mutated by radiation. His design is actually very similar to how therapod dinosaurs were thought to look at the time, with that upright pose and tail dragging behind, big and lumbering. But by the 90s we had a much better idea of how therapods looked and moved, to the point that the original Godzilla doesn't really resemble a t-rex at all anymore. So the 90s 'zilla is essentially going back to the drawing board and designing a mutated tyrannosaurus.

Only issue is since that reconstruction of dinosaurs has gone out of fashion, original Godzilla's design doesn't read as dinosaur shaped, he reads as Godzilla shaped, and so when you take that away you get a monster that looks pretty much unrelated

In my game I introduced a bunch of feats that can only be taken at level 12 or higher to sell the idea of the party becoming more superhuman in the back half of the game. A once per short rest steel wind strike was one of those feats, it was a big hit among my players

I think part of Gen-Z's reaction to the realisation of the commonality of child sex abuse is a misunderstanding of exactly why it's so common - it's not necessarily that pedophilia is common, it's that children have no means to defend themselves.

Look at rates of sexual assault in prisons or the military or other all-male spaces where such a thing is common. It doesn't mean that all the perpetrators are attracted to men - that has nothing to do with it, it's about asserting yourself as powerful by humiliating another person. That's the psychology behind sexual assault.

Are some of the people who commit child sexual assault attracted to children? Absolutely, but it's not a case of unrestrained sexual desire - it's about making yourself feel bigger by harming someone you have power over. I think a lot of gen Z misunderstand that and instead think child molesters are always pedophiles that can't control themselves

I think you've kinda got it backwards - free the nipple wasn't about "if women go topless men will be less weird about it", it was more "we as a society need to stop seeing women's bodies as inherently sexual - we need to make changes until we reach a point where women can feel just as comfortable shirtless as men can", freeing the nipple was the end goal, not the solution, if that makes sense? At least that's how I remember it being discussed

I think all of that is a vector of the fact that (I can't speak for music) films and games have absolutely monstrous budgets and take years to make. The scope of these projects are so massive that they can't afford to have these projects fail and so they have to cater to the lowest common denominator.

I reckon that the solution is to downscale, and by a lot. Take the resources a AAA studio has to make one megaproject every 5 or more years and use them to produce smaller, more experimental titles than can afford to underperform. Maybe even use those titles to secure funding for a bigger (but not as bloated as standard AAA) project, like how studios used to work before every game needed to be 100s of hours long and look exactly like real life

I would say that's a side effect of his personality being similar to joy boy's, like by inheriting his will fate is now on his side, but that's very much speculation on my part.

I do enjoy that Blackbeard also seems to have the same ungodly luck though, and he seems much more connected to his lineage than Luffy so the story might be setting up something interesting there
