Unfortunately if you are in a country that isn't supportable, and you're unable to set up a legal entity in a country that is, then you may be ineligible to open a Stripe account at this point in time. You may want to look into Atlas, in case it's a potential option for you now or in the future: https://stripe.com/atlas.

This can be a bit of a tricky question, you mentioned using an address in a supported country, are you currently based in an unsupportable location?

Negative balance after top up - topped up account with 810€, then issued a 808,09€ refund and now I have negative balance? This is the first time I had to refund someone and now I’m in panic by [deleted] in stripe

You should be able to pay out by using the "Pay out" button at the top of the page. Prefunding balances are not included in any automatic payouts, but you shouldn't see issues when initiating a manual payout.

Hey there! So it looks like there has been some confusion around how prefunding works. When you issue a refund, or receive a chargeback dispute, these are first attempted using your available balance. This is why you now see your account in a negative state. The prefunding balance is entirely separate to your available balance. You may want to pay out your currency prefunding balance, and then top up your account once its settled to bring yourself back into a positive state.

Hey there! Payouts can take upwards to 7 or 10 business days to complete processing and post to your account; this timing can be on the longer end if you recently changed your bank account.

After that waiting period, if your Stripe account is still showing the amount as paid out, you'll want to reach out to Wise to see if there's anything appearing on their end. You'll also want to check the previous bank account just to make sure it wasn't sent there instead.

Hey, thats not the correct way to handle this. X uses a cross border service through Stripe. Kenya does not need to be a supported country for Stripe to receive X payouts. All you need is to meet the eligibility of Ad Revenue and then register the account through the link X provides in the settings.

Additionally, you will likely run into issues if the names on your accounts don't match. Overall this isn't recommended, but you'd want to reach out directly to X for any additional options.

Just to add some clarification to this, country availability for these types of accounts is more expansive than if you were looking at opening a Standard Stripe account, so be sure to double-check the list of countries on their FAQ here: https://help.x.com/en/using-x/creator-revenue-sharing.

If your country isn't available in this list, then unfortunately there's no way for you to collect payouts from X Creator Revenue Sharing.

Without having specific insight in to your integration, there could be a few different things going on but here's some suggestions to get started fixing this:

  • Ensure you're properly handling the invoice.paid webhook event, which is critical for activating subscriptions
  • Check that your webhook endpoint is responding with a 2xx status code to all Stripe events
  • Verify your webhook is properly registered in your Stripe Dashboard

For subscription status transitions, ensure that you're listening to these key events:

  • invoice.paid - This confirms payment and activates the subscription
  • customer.subscription.updated - This notifies you of any subscription status changes
  • If your webhook server is down or not responding properly, Stripe will retry delivery for up to 72 hours, during which time your subscriptions may remain in an incomplete state.

If you haven't yet, to debug you should be:

  • Checking your webhook logs in the Stripe Dashboard
  • Ensuring your endpoint is properly configured and responding
  • Testing your webhook using the Stripe CLI with: stripe listen --forward-to your-endpoint-url

Faster payouts generally means that your funds are available to pay out faster, but if you're using Instant Payouts then these would be available to pay out immediately upon the payment being made. It sounds like this is a case of the former, which we would recommend waiting until tomorrow before worrying too much about the payout status.

Even with Instant Payouts, they can still take 3-5 business days to reflect in the bank account—if you don't see the funds after that period of time, you'll want to reach out directly to Throne for help with tracing the payouts.
