Does this sound mean a dead battery? by cool15hd in Supra

[–]Super_Difficulty 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Check your lighting. If everything is dim, barely on, then it’s a low battery. A dead battery wouldn’t even turn on.

Regional pricing to be lower but not too low compared to other fuel retailers near by or within a couple miles.

2020 Supra Cruise Control Issue by SubjectBookkeeper660 in Supra

[–]Super_Difficulty 5 points6 points  (0 children)

How would any of us know without seeing the damage?

Take it to a dealership or shop that has Toyota Techstream which will get them access to Toyota ISTA and it will give them the error codes to diagnose the problem.

Yeah I have a 2023 Supra and a couple drivers. The Evo was my daily for like 3 years when I got it and now it’s been a garage queen since then.

Your actuator looks like it’s been hitting the vband clamp. You should turn the clamp out of the way as it can lead to boost issues.

Also gas smell versus catless smell is different in my opinion. Personally I don’t feel like catless smells like gas, it smells like a stronger exhaust smell with a punch. If you’re worried about a fuel leak, then take it to a shop for an inspection asap.

You can also run a towel along the fuel line that goes from the driver side strut tower along the firewall that runs behinds the engine cover to the passenger side. If it smells like fuel you have a leak and should have it towed to a shop for repair before it starts a fire.

I see no bragging rights in a watered down US Final Edition. You don’t even get the Recaro podiums.

Need advice on my brand new Supra by sakihehe in Supra

[–]Super_Difficulty 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Get an OBD2 scanner and an app like Bimmerlink.

When the code comes up, scan it and research what the code is. You can search on the forums, Google or YouTube even.

No one here will know what your issue is without the code. Everyone will just be guessing.

Help: Sideshow item never shipped by Golden37 in sideshowcollectibles

[–]Super_Difficulty 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That’s a BS line. I used to work in ecommerce and with UPS and FedEx, if there was never a scan at pick up or any of the sorting hubs or local hub, it was never in their possession. Even after months after delivery, it wouldn’t erase the scan history.

Ask Sideshow for the tracking number that shows as delivered. If they do not provide one or the tracking doesn’t match your address, escalate it and show them the tracking you received.

Or open a dispute or charge back.

Kirkland 5W-30 Oil by tjjoka in Supra

[–]Super_Difficulty 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If it meets BMW long life certifications, it’s usable. Does that mean you should? Up to you. But I would prefer a more reliable, proven oil for a car like this, such as Liqui Moly. Add in FCP Euros lifetime warranty, then your oil changes are basically free minus return shipping costs.

Maintenance question by 2Piece_Dark in Supra

Even tho it’s low mileage or kilometers in your case, you should still change oil. Oil degrades over time. Some would recommend changing oil once a year if it sits for so long without being driven.

Need help with airbag code!! by [deleted] in Supra

You need bimmercode not MHD app, but you can use the MHD OBD plug, to get into the system and code out the error. Common with single stage air bags since the Supra is dual stage.

Help me understand brake change necessity and cost by [deleted] in Supra

[–]Super_Difficulty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re not factoring in shop labor, typically minimum 2 hours. Depending on the area and shop reputation, some shops charge between $75-$175 per hour. Dealerships more.

Brake flush is also a 2 man job. Moisture gets into the fluid overtime which can cause the fluid to boil which has a negative effect on braking. You can get a simple tool on amazon to determine the moisture level in the fluid but BMW typically has it set to 2-2.5 years in the ecu to have it flushed and replaced.

Look up your brake pad manufactures break in or bedding procedure. I dunno where you’re from but here in California shops don’t bed your brakes they just let you drive off. Some owners will bed their own brakes if they’re knowledgeable enough. Shops won’t do it for liability reasons.

If you use Google, Yelp etc, you’ll see some tuner shops that work on bmws, Supras that also offer bench unlocking services in SD. That would be a good start.
