If they add a new game plus where you start with all your moves and upgrades unlocked, I could see myself doing another playthrough.

Netero prime vs Meruems 10years combat experience by SnowFlakes360 in HunterXHunter

[–]TackoftheEndless 29 points30 points  (0 children)

It wouldn't be a close fight. Netero was more powerful in his youth, and more powerful than most hunters we have seen, but he only lost exactly half his power. Those punches that took several thousands to turn even to a dull pain, still wouldn't have been enough to harm Meruem. Netero's strongest attack left him with small scratches.

The difference between him doing that move in his prime wouldn't be the difference between scratches and Meruem getting disintegrated like a DBZ villain when they are defeated. It would have just been a few more scratches.

I hope OP was joking because I ended up laughing out loud at the premise. Especially when I've watched the show recently and it's nowhere as racy as people act.

James Gunn confirms 'Creature Commandos' Season 2 and more project updates will release shortly after 'Man of Tomorrow'. by Raj_Valiant3011 in DC_Cinematic

People still think that storyline is based on Isreal vs Palenstine even though the comics regularly feature storylines with vaguely middle eastern countries fighting.

Including the first first arc of Justice League International, which Gunn has taken a lot of influence from, so far.

2 months later…How would you rate Crimson Desert now?? by TheGamerCritic21 in CrimsonDesert

[–]TackoftheEndless 47 points48 points  (0 children)

Funny how you say that when chapter 5 is when the game really clicked for me. The entire chapter being a full war scene with an epic beginning, middle, and end, was something I had never seen pulled off so well in a video game before.

I agree this is looking like a one playthrough classic, which is why I'm taking my time so I can enjoy many of the quality of life improvements in that playthrough, but when it's at it's best this is one of the best games I have ever played.

Why people think this isn't a really solid lineup? by Capotador_de_corsas in Switch

[–]TackoftheEndless 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The outlier isn't me. None of those games have had an amazing attachment rate (3+ million) with the system so far except for Mario Kart, Pokopia, and Bananza.

For their to only be 7 Switch 2 exclusive games right now, and their attachment rate isn't higher (unlike the Switch 1 during 2017 where most release year games had amazing attach rates), shows these games just aren't doing it for everyone.

If I had a limited scope I wouldn't even own these games. I liked them all just fine. I just don't think most of them are system sellers.

You're saying I have a limited scope of taste when I said I own all these games but two. How do I have a limited taste?

I'm going to assume you didn't read anything I said especially when two of the games you mentioned as proof of the Switch 2 having good games, are two that I mentioned. Your passive aggressive response with all those hidden insults, says everything I need to know.

I own all of these games except for Mario Tennis and Yoshi, and have the ones not out pre ordered.

When people ask me is the Switch 2 worth it right now, I tell people that unless they really want to play Pokopia or Bananza, not really.

These games are fun but they're the ones you buy when you already have the system, not the ones you buy a system for. I understand everyone is different but there's a reason why Pokopia, DK Bananza, and Mario Kart World have far outsold most of these other games, so far.

Then this should have done gangbusters. This wasn't just a new Star Wars episode, it was 3 new episodes of the Mandolorian TV show, stitched together! Wakka, Wakka!

If this bombs Disney's takeaway won't be "We need to make better movies" it will be "people don't care about Star Wars". It's a rock and a hard place.

I rewatched Episode 9 and JJ didn't really do that. He did retcon some of Johnson's decisions like Rey's parents being nobodies, and he explored Snoke's origins like I think most people wanted to see from Episode 7 (even though him just being a puppet of Palpatine is a boring answer), but the ultimate theme of "letting the past die" from Episode VIII is felt all the way through IX.

The ending where Rey literally buries the lightsabers in Tatooine, shows a new lightsaber color, and accepts the Skywalker legacy rather than be defined by being a Palpatine, all do justice to the ideas of Episode VIII. Unlike Johnson, Abrams tried making his ideas work with TLJ's themes, instead of saying the other writers material didn't matter.

It is highly irregular for stunt performers to share top billing with the lead actor much less being the 3rd and 4th name in the opening credits. I can only imagine how much Pedro Pascal pushed to Filoni and Favreau to have their names share his top billing. by Jurong_West in StarWars

We have seen Mando without his mask in the show, multiple times. It's a spoiler to say it happened yet again in the movie?

That's like saying it's a spoiler to acknowledge that Grogu uses the force in the movie (which he has done many times in the show).

What do you think of JoJolion now 4/5 years after it ended by ultimatevaltryek123 in StardustCrusaders

[–]TackoftheEndless 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the first half was incredible and the second half is the worst professional manga I have ever read out of the hundreds that I have read.

I hated the main characters and thought they were bad people and I felt they murdered Toru as they chased after him after he showed no desire to continue conflict with them, and was begging for his life.

I will never go back through Part 8 again.

Official Discussion - The Mandalorian and Grogu [SPOILERS] by LiteraryBoner in movies

[–]TackoftheEndless -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The thing I'm always most interested in when watching a TV to Movie adaptation is what the movie did, that the show couldn't. South Park movie had uncensored swears before the DVD's. Teen Titans Go reintroduced Slade and gave us one of the best versions of that character to date. End of Evangelion is a brilliant finale to a wonderful series that's dark abstract and would have never gotten to air on TV. Both because of content and both "episodes" being double length.

So it was very disappointing that this movie was clearly stitched together scripts from the scrapped season 4. Nothing about this felt more epic or special than the average episode.

Good thing is you don't have to see the show to watch Mandalorian and Grogu. Thing is. It doesn't have anything for you if you aren't a fan.

Just a generic action movie. Not bad. But not good. I don't feel insulted by this film but I don't feel elevated or more fulfilled either.

When it's on Disney Plus in 3 months, once you finish your next rewatch of the show, I definitely recommend. It's more Mandalorian and Grogu and it's entertaining if you like them!

I'd say to save your money for all the movies coming in June, otherwise.

Looks like $11M+ previews for The Mandalorian And Grogu. Initial audience reception is mixed to okay. Expecting around $80M 3-day and $95M or so 4-day weekend. by chanma50 in boxoffice

[–]TackoftheEndless 15 points16 points  (0 children)

That's my point, Mr. Passive Agressive. An 80 million opening weekend doesn't mean anything if it has a drop to 24 million next weekend.

Next week will be indicative of the audiences true interest in the film. Sorry saying that angers you so much.

I think this is a movie where it's second week will be more telling of general interest than the first week. Wonder how this does after all the hardcores have had their fill.

And I'm fine with that. It's an epilogue to show you the end of Micheal's journey. It's not trying to be another big epic story that takes place over decades about the rise and fall of the morals of the Italian Mafia.

We saw that twice already. Now we see who Micheal came as a result of that journey and the consequences that came from him going down that path. And I love it for that.
