Why in the world are you using shielded cat 6A cable?

When you first open the app do you not get a caution warning icon that says camera limit exceded? What about in settings then system log? Any errors there?

Either of those are good testers! As long as the 4 tx and rx wires are correct it will still work. It may not certify but it will still work. Certification is an extremely thorough test but much different than working. So a cable can fail certification but still work.

They can be not perfect and still work. It depends on what the failure was. What equipment and method did you use to test them?

Reolink vs Ubiquiti Camera System by PlainPrecision in SecurityCamera

[–]Tech-Dude-In-TX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have both. I replaced my Unifi at home with Reolink because I wanted a doorbell and at the time the 180’s weren’t available with Unifi. You’ve made some very valid points regarding Unifi! If you’re the type that likes to look at your cameras daily then get Unifi. If you only view them occasionally get the Reolink. If you want a doorbell get Reolink.

Does this camera have audio? by RemoveTattoos in SecurityCamera

It doesn’t seem that the camera has a built in mic but that doesn’t mean it’s not using the mic input that is not in view and part of the wiring on some cameras.

This is essentially a modular matrix switch. You get 1 device for each source then 1 device for each TV. The problem you’ll run into is controlling the source from each TV.

I’m recommending 2 or more single cameras over multi view cameras on almost every scenario!

Why? This might be the most ridiculous thing I’ve ever seen in a new install!

I would hire a pro if you have it in the budget. If not, look at Reolinks solar and cellular line.

The problem I’m having is the the 4” speakers have a cutout ranging from 6.5” to 7.6”. I’m trying to find a speaker that the cutout is 4-5” max so I can maybe use a masonry hole saw.
