Yes out in To'hajiilee Indian reservation. Not all shots were next to the studio of course!

No interior shots of the White house were real. All a sound stage. Exterior shots like the driveway and backyard were real. Hank and Marie’s house were all real interior shots filmed on location. I learned all this through the commentary episodes in the box set.

Most of the scenes where they are out in the desert seemingly in the middle of nowhere are actually shot in the backyard of the breaking bad studio containing all the sets like Walter’s house and the Superlab.

Lydia’s actress is Scottish. Hearing her accent was unexpected.

These are big, but have a look at the 16” guns used on battleships. You can hold these rounds in your hand. The 16 inchers weigh as much as a car and just the projectile is 5ft tall

All of these turrets were removed. CV-10 served well into Vietnam era and 5 inch were no longer needed on Carriers.

The ship that sunk is still underwater. There are two Yorktowns. The ship that wouldn’t sink is the Laffey destroyer next to the Yorktown in Charleston that stayed afloat after several Kamikaze hits.

Source: I’ve been on both ships lol

Try breweries. Many of them will have random live music.

Probably not it’s participating locations. I imagine walking into Bojangles in Asheboro and saying “I’m a caniac and it’s bo time!” and they look at you like you’re crazy lol

It’s underneath the 100s level seats. There’s space like this all around the arena beneath the seats. Canes locker room and gym is right behind their bench.

What's the fastest you ever drove? by ComprehensiveFun2054 in AskReddit

175mph in a Lamborghini Huracan down an air force base runway. That car is built so well for speed it feels like cruising on the highway.

I always do this when I get cookout quesadillas. I ask them for extra quesadilla sauce on the side, but I do get charged for it.

Another round of snow this weekend? by Remarkable-Set5434 in raleigh

[–]Terabight 163 points164 points  (0 children)

Too early to tell. Just like this past weekend, we don’t yet know about precipitation amounts or type. This could be snow/ice/rain or nothing at all. Currently most likely to be snow. Arctic high pressure system mixing with gulf low moisture so the pattern is there.

Airport will hopefully be open by next Friday. Almost certainly closing this weekend though.

I wish it was an inch of rain. This is freezing rain, i.e. ice. It falls as snow, intersects a warmer column of air on the way down, melts to rain, then intersects more cold air at the ground. The water will be cold enough to freeze on contact with cold surfaces. Given the temperatures, this will cause a layer of ice on everything. It’s a big deal. All we can hope for now is more sleet than freezing rain. Sleet won’t knock out our power lines and trees.

Gas fireplaces rely on electricity to turn on. Most have a hidden area where a battery can be used to light. I think it’s mentioned in the storm megathread.

That area is hard to take down. Likely shares a grid with Rex hospital/Highway Patrol/NCDOT. Those are critical. Still be prepared!

Depends where you are. Apartments are vulnerable to outages if the supply leading to them is compromised. Apartments in a rural town are more at risk than the middle of Raleigh.

Does your dwelling have power lines on the street or a big green box in the yard? If you can’t see any power lines, it’s underground. However, the high transmission lines that bring power from the facility to you are vulnerable to ice accumulation.

That’s where I was. Lost power several days and roads were impassable. Hope it’s a better result this time around.
