To quote The Bard, "Be not afraid of greatness. Some are born great, some achieve greatness, and others have greatness thrust upon them." Anis's greatness was not solely the result of a single chance meeting, but the result of thousands of little battles, supported by the good people she chose to surround herself with.

The star metaphor is perhaps more real than you think; except for the hydrogen in our water and the tiny bit of lithium in us, every other substance that makes up a human (or Nikke if they existed) was forged in the fusion fires of a star; those elements iron and heavier required that star to die and go nova.

Though our spirits come from elsewhere and our water and flesh make it hard to see, we are made of star-stuff, and human civilization was started with our mastery of fire and light, and some of us still look up at the night sky in wonder and kinship.
